LOST. Should I or shouldnt I?
« on: October 24, 2012, 09:21:07 PM »
So my sister is a LOST fanatic as were millions of people out there but it just never struck me as interesting. #1 reason is the acting to horrific!! But that being said Im starting with season 1 eps one and gonna see how far I can get.

I personally dont care about spoilers, so dont worry about that, but what do you think? Will this hold up after ten years?

I liked it.

A lot.

For a while.

Watched every episode. I think its better when they are a week apart.

The end was ok, nothing to give much praise to.

I wouldn't download them all and watch them again. nor would I download and watch them for a first time. But I'm weird, and just cannot sit and watch anything on my computer.

It was interesting in the beginning, I liked it a lot then, bit it added nothing to my life. I only sat through the second half because I don't like unfinished stories.

I didn't like Jack or Kate, they were either boring or annoying.

I liked Sawyer, he was cool.

Now Zoidberg is the popular one!

Im half way through season 1 and can honestly say the acting on this is crap. Im trying drinking heavy while I watch it and now its just boring. Like chekovsulu, I feel like I should push through season 1. Maybe itll bite me in the ass?

I religiously watched every episode of every season.  The first 3 seasons I loved but it's true I struggled after that and found it a real grind.

The real issue is: I was so bent off, yes bent off with the ending, that if I see Jeffrey Lieber, J. J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof etc, I am going to kick them all in the goolies (if they had any).

So you are like the rest of the die hard fans......... You couldnt stand the fact that the ending was the only episode in the entire series that MADE ANY bless'ed SENSE!!!! Lol. Another case of different folks.

It made absolutely no sense. There were a 1001 things during the 6 seasons that just didn't add up in the final analysis.  The vast majority of viewer theories would have made a far better storyline and I had the feeling that what happened in the end wasn't what they'd intended when they set out.

That was NOT the case. The last batch of people DID get off the island and parished at different times in their lifes. It just took him that long to meet up with them again and admit his own death.

That said, I was never a Matthew Fox fan, but Im watching Alex Cross and he is an awesome villian!!!

It wasn't an island, it was purgatory.  To my knowledge the only person to have left that place, was Dean Winchester.

Not according to the sites Ive read. http://screenrant.com/lost-finale-explanation-kofi-61464/ I suppose this could go round and round but I spent more time in search of an answer to all the time I wasted watching this show and I read multiple sites and their opinions of what happened and I didnt find any with that one. I did read somewhere that while the show was still on the air people speculated about purgatory but that never played out.  Who knows.... Surely the writer knows. Ha! http://www.denofgeek.us/tv/21442/damon-lindelof-finally-explains-the-lost-finale

I've been trying to locate this as it just about sums up the feeling I had after the last episode was aired:

I largely enjoyed the series--if only to catch the book titles that whatizname was reading (lotsa in-jokes there*). The last season and the finale were lame, lame, super-lame. Ultimately a vast disappointment...

I started it when in was in the hospital to have Adrianna. I like it. Kind of. It digresses a bit much for me. I'm on the last season and its getting less and less interesting but I've come so far that I am just going to finish it. I think jj abrahms (excuse my spelling) doesn't know how to end stuff.

That may be the case, lol. But he's still way ahead of the curve when it comes to creating interesting series.

I agree. I'm a big fan, just think he could use work on endings. I'm still upset about the last season of fringe.

Did you find it to be a let down or is it because Fringe is over? The whole last season just seemed sort of ad hoc and sudden but, all-in-all, I liked it.

I was used to exciting mysteries and weird stuff and they changed the whole formula in the last season. It was disappointing not to see Anna Torv playing the usual badass.

I enjoyed the last season but hated it overall for the Fringe show.  I liked how it was progressing before...

I don't understand why they decided to just up and change the whole direction of it.

^ Never liked him much anyhow. I enjoyed Walter's antics and loved all of the women...
I suppose the reason for the odd change of focus can be laid at the door of the usual Hollywood (etc) malfunction--too much cocaine and a massive dose of ADD.  ;D
