Actually that reminds me, the only homeless guy I ever made an effort to give money to was when I crossed the street to give change to a guy holding a sign that said:

"I'll only spend it on beer."

When I wasn't short of cash (many moons ago) I used to either buy a sandwich and drink and give it to the guy with the sign saying "hungry and homeless" but there was a fella in Camden town who used to say "can you spare a couple of quid so I can buy some tinnies". He always got the money from me...  There was another bloke the used to do the backstreets of London's west end that used to give YOU money - I kid you not.  He used to sit there and chant "anyone need some cash".  He'd only give you like 50 pence or something which you always gave back and then a few pounds on top for making you laugh - he was obviously a very shrewd businessman.

Nope, a .jpg.  It's an optical allusion.  Often in pics that have repeating patterns this effect will be seen.
