Movies totally gross me out, I have to close my eyes. But for some reason real life doesn't. I'm not even sure why.. I'm going to be stuck analyzing myself now :D

How about "running with the big dogs"?  That way, it takes gender (hell, even species) right out of it.

With the PC movememnt and all, I think the correct term would be " hanging with the big persons".

I saw pics of the effects of social desieses in their final stages.
One guys schmecko was so bad it looked like a garden sprinkler made of half rotted meat.
Must have made crowded public bathrooms interesting. lol

I watch alot of gory horror movies ( canible zombie types are my fave) .
Ive had people tell me that they are too scared to watch things like that because of this reason or the other.
Ive seen family die from cancer,, thats scary.
My grandfather passed away from cancer badly,, it was wierd too, it ate a hole into part of his chest the size of a golffball,,,now thats gross.
I was 7 when I saw it, and it has stuck with me since.
I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.

I think I heard about some guy whose schmecko was so malformed that when he did pee, it went everywhere!  I can't remember where I heard this

That's in terms of scary though.. not gross.. I agree with you about scary. Even some slasher movies aren't scary to me.. if anything they're just sad and depressing. But I agree.. real  life is much more sad.

But gross? Just lots of churned up gore for gore sake makes me want to spew. Or, I'd look away lots of times if I was stuck watching a move. But.. real life? if I came across someone bloody in a car wreck and everything smelled like burning flesh.. and another person was puking from a head injury.. None of that would gross me out.. I'd just dig in and tune out and help. Same way in real life if someone I care about is puking their guts out. Real life calls for action, and that action blocks your mind from dwelling on things that might otherwise be gross.

As for gross,, some of the accidents in the ring were pretty bad.
I was in WCW when Scott Stiener was in a match with Sid Vicious and we saw Sid's leg break.
I saw Playboy Jimmy Candler get his head busted open in a match with Terry Pantera and h e needed 12 or so staples after his skull was showing through.
I saw a compound fracture of a guys arm close up ( i caused it on accident,,well,, he took the move wrong too though).
Ive seen some gross things in my days as a wrestler..
Another gross thing was having to hear the crunching noise of my own neck when it was fractured.. that still bothers me in nightmares.
I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.

..or.. another example of 'real life' is it gross or not...

A couple of weeks ago a friend went through a 15 minute explanation of the diffeent underarm deoderants she uses. she said she used to use a normal one.. then switched to a bio friendly one that didn't work.. then this summer she started using a presciption grade super deoderant :o And.. what I gathered from teh discussion is she doesn't like guys to sweat at all either. Sweat completely does not gross me out. In fact I think it's life affirming, and sometimes sexy.

It's just odd how some things are gross, and some things totally don't bug us. There doesn't seem like there's good logic to it.

I was going to mention how I don't like neck breaking, because it happened in the 100 Dollar Baby episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.  But I really can't imagine what it'd be like if it happened to yourself :-\

Different food really is pretty gross. I'll come back after I've gotten ready for work and post a really gross one I saw this week.

Maggots are gross.. I'm not even sure I get where they come from.. I can go read their life cycle process.. but I'm a little afraid to  :-\
