Title: Netbook
Post by: goldshirt*9 on April 16, 2013, 12:49:38 AM
Have just purchased a Toshiba N200-11l with windows 7 installed 1gb ram.
Installed Peppermint Linux on an old Hdd to ensure i could run it ( It does  :D )
So my question is, if this runs ok then could i put in a Sdd Hdd ?
Then upgrade the ram to to 2 gb as it is the max ?

I don't know if this is close enough but... http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/Toshiba-memory/NB+Series/NB200-upgrades.html

I would run the Crucial® Scanner. It will give you a list of upgrades for your rig. http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/

Wait, you have 2 hard drives? One with Windows and one with Linux? Are you wondering if your rig will support a SSD? Would it be a PITA to throw the Windows HDD in it for a scan?

The Toshiba NB200 will run the Crucial M500 240GB 2.5-inch Internal SSD. Is that similar to your Toshiba N200-11L?

I don't think you want to know if Linux will run on a SSD.

Sorry if I'm unclear about the question.

I still have the original hdd from the netbook on my desk.
I have an old 60 gb hdd with linux running in the netbook atm.

Thanks, i can now look to buy a ssd for the netbook, I assume linux will pick up the ssd as standard.
