Post by: smokester on May 16, 2013, 03:10:36 AM: I reckon about 80% of our guests are spiders. They do come from all over, they're not all just Googlebots (we have Kremlinbots too), but nonetheless we do get a lot of interest probably due to our many links.

Some of those are not nice and are seen trying to register, so they have other things in mind.

Then there's those among us who like to lurk, and those who lurk but have never registered. Come on in non-registered lurkers. We might not leave the door open but the key is available if you write to [email protected]

A few years ago I used to see an IP that was regular and wasn't an obvious crawler (i.e. it didn't start with 66.249.75), so I ran a trace to see where it came from.

This is what I found:
