Title: My Favourite Number
Post by: chekovsulu on December 03, 2009, 01:00:14 PM
My favourite number is 9.
In Pro Evolution Soccer, I won't play unless my character is number 9. I want at least nine children. My favourite times table is the 9 times table.
I was born on the nineteenth of the month in the late nineteen-hundreds
There is a film by Tim Burton called 9 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0443424/) and today, at Tottenham Court Road station, I saw a poster for a film called Nine (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0875034/).
42 in binary is 101010. 4+2+1+0+1+0+1+0 = 9. Also, we (well, most of us) have a total of ten digits on our hands. 10-1-0 = 9. Coincidence?
When I do a Google search for the number 9 (numerical representation), it takes Google 0.29 seconds. A Google search for "nine" takes 0.18 seconds. Divide that by 2, and you get 0.09 - amazing!
Read more about my favourite number in this Wikipaedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9_(number)). At time of writing, Wikipaedia is number 6 in that Alexa top sites thing. 6 is the binary complement of number nine: 1001 - 0110 :o

Um yeah,, 22 devided by 7 Whats the European version? I wasnt aware there was another way of doing it.
I was taking the mick as pi is 3.14159(265...), and as you lot like to change the English language so much I thought you might extend the habit to include math.

When a circle's diameter is 1, its circumference is pi.
It doesn't matter what the diameter of a circle is, its circumference will always be (* X pi).

I remember my dad teaching me the 22/7 thing. He told me that I should only use it when I don't have a calculator.

Whats the fun in that?
Got a cool trick to pull on someone at a bar for petty cash or a free drink. Tell someone you can calculate pi to the 20th decimal pointor more just using your mind. then write the answer down on a napkin and have someone check it with a calculater. Its simple,, all you got to do is understand that its a self repeating number pattern,,, Once you get the first set memorised,, bobs your uncle.
