Britney Goes Down Under
Posted Mon 9 Nov 2009 11:58AM GMT by Dave Rumour in Snap, Crackle and Pop
Over nine months since Britney Spears kicked-off the "Circus" world tour, embarking on the latest leg of her pop comeback, the controversy will not go away. After such a mammoth international venture, it seems remarkable that some people are still shocked by the fact that she barely manages a real vocal all-night. But that's reportedly the case in Australia following the first of her 14 dates, which are said to have infuriated fans and critics alike.

Local media claim people stormed out of the Burswood Dome in Perth, incensed at her display, which was labelled "boring" and "stiff", apparently lacking both interaction and real singing. One fan, Josh Blee, told the Sydney Daily Telegraph: "It was cr*p... She has let us down". The fall-out has even lead to New South Wales' Fair Trade Minister Virginia Judge calling for official concert legislation to warn of lip-synching. "Live means live. If you are spending up to $200, I think you deserve better than a film clip", said Judge.

"The NSW Government would be happy to look at options, such as a disclaimer on a ticket which would warn consumers a performance is pre-recorded", she continued. Britney is said to be "extremely upset" by the news. "She's a human being. I'm embarrassed, with such a big international entourage here with Britney, to be part of the Australian media when I see that kind of totally inaccurate reporting", said tour promoter Paul Dainty, while her manager Adam Leber insisted: "It's unfortunate that one journalist in Perth didn't enjoy the show last night. Fortunately the other 18,272 fans in attendance did".

Damn,,does ht mean that pop stars got to actualy do some work for the fans to like them now?
What next? Movies with real acting?

I don't get that line. I dislike lip-sync performances on TV programs, usually the presenters state that the performance was great [sic].

Britney Goes Down Under

That could be a good movie title.

[snip] while her manager Adam Leber insisted: "It's unfortunate that one journalist in Perth didn't enjoy the show last night. Fortunately the other 18,272 fans in attendance did". [/snip]

That's damage control, that was supposedly posted on Twitter of all places.

He speaks English like a Londoner, I can only guess that he's watched far too many Ray Winstone movies.
