I flooded my house....almost

Dunno if i said here that i bent up my toilet cistern,and about 50-60 Gallons of water escaped thru the batheroom floor,through the lightfitting downstairs and into the hall and lounge,before i finally found the stop cockerel and turned of the whole supply.
  Well from that situation,my carpets are cleaner,all i need is a new cistern replacement kit,which'll cost me around ?30.00.
  The lesson i've learned is,go on a plumbing coarse.
It's a license to print money,i know someone who charged ?90 just to be called out,that's before he did any work.
  So in Jan,im getting all the info on a coarse.
For the now i have to pour buckets of water down the toilet to flush it.

Toilet cisterns are not very complicated at all you know. Five minutes research on the intarwebz and you should be able to fix it yourself no problem - or post what the problem is here and I can tell you.

I broke the plastic ball that floats up and stops the flow of water,a new cistern kit'll sort it.

You can buy just the ball/float from any builders merchant and screw it back on. Shouldn't cost any more that a couple of quid and it is far easier than fitting the whole valve.  Another thing is you have to know whether the cistern is mains fed or from a tank, if it is on the mains then you need a high pressure valve in the kit you intend to buy or you'll cause another leak (too much hassle mate, just buy a new float).

I believe there's more broken,my housemate Scott broke the whatever when he pulled the lever too hard.
  A new kits prefferable,im a prevention's better than cure person.

 Best redo everything incase something goes wrong with an older part.

It sounds like what he broke is the "kingpin" or a "Syphon C-Link" and I'm not sure that will be in you "cistern kit" so you'd better check.  Again this is a component part you can buy from the builders' merchant for a few pence although I have survived for years in the past with a bit of coat hanger.  If that is all, you simply need a float and a kingpin/Syphon C-Link to fix it.

Have a look to see if it is the coupling at the end of the lever that has broken, it should look something like this:



If that is broken, then all you need are the 2 things I suggested and about 3 minutes to fit them - then you'd be back in business to carry on doing your business.

The thing that Scotty took out looked like an electric arc welding rod,but the thing that was snapped was white plastic.

I saw the picture you sent me and it looks pretty bad to be honest.  You will need a new "Side supply float valve, arm and float" as that is completely missing and if the bit that Scotty took out is the release below that pin, then you have big problems.  If it is the part above it which is the black arm (in your image and the gold arm in mine below) attached to the inside of the lever, then you can replace that easily and re-attach the syphon link pin.

To be brutally honest, if your pal took out the rod that lifts to flush the system (which is illustrated by the red line in my image), then with all the other bits you are just about replacing the entire cistern and should really do just that (buy a complete new cistern that is) and I would not attempt to fit that (if I were you) without someone's help that knows at least a little of what they are doing.

I also need a new valve that lets or cuts the water supply,as the screw is bent thanks to cowboy Scotty.
  A friend said they'd put a tap fixture where the screw was,it'll be easier to turn off the supply with a tap than a screw.

Yeah you're better off with a proper stopcock. Can't your landlord sort all this out for you (presuming you have a landlord).

I'm sorry you had such a hassle. But, it would be cool if it led to something interesting to do, so that's good.
