I wanna press the "go down" button, but I can't find it  :(

I like the insert flash option as well as the audio "You've got mail" bit   :)
Size, it doesn't matter to me so long as I get it...Gotta go now.

You're not meant to press it, you're meant to lick it...

I would imagine you could as basic html is enabled.  However, I wouldn't recommend it as if a few people did and posted on the same page, it could grind this place to a halt.

CMF needs his hand slapped!! Brick, you are closest!

Very clever idea. When I googled "diasfora" that was the closest word to it and I did see the possibility there.

For me, the least favorite part is when you see a thread with new content, it has the "New" link (link that takes you to the part in the thread where new content starts) is on the right side of the thread link.  I know it's a little thing but if it were on the left (like some of the other forums I've been on) then they will all be in a straight line when I go to click on them (I open them all in new threads and read from there).

I know, I'm a weirdo.

I have looked at the other SMF sites I know dweez and they are all on the right on theirs :-\  Do you know what other SMF or other Forum has it the way you would want?  I may just be a small change in the style sheet or something?

I know Invision Power Board has it on the left by default.  It's just me being anal as oc1 pointed out.  I wouldn't waste any time in trying to change it.

It seems like years ago there was an idle chat box like this that you could add to these boards

Is that still an option? Good option/bad option? I mean to use for Hi's Bye's etc.

I have done a bit of research for integrating "chat" and although it is possible, it isn't easy, may not be free, and a tad beyond me. :)

Hello Jhb48430 very nice to see you here.

http://www.x7chat.com/

Thanks Binks and mI saw that ion my travels, but the simplest way to incorporate chat would be to use "FlashChat" by all accounts (costs $5 though).  I have installed phpfreechat on a testing site but much like other people's experiences with it, it always crashed and would need extensive re-scripting to get it to work.

Backburner for me again I am afraid.

Was "chat" really the request?  When I first read it, I thought of the "Shoutbox".

I never understood why they did chat through forums when 1) there are a ton of Chat systems commercially out there (AIM, MSN, XFire, etc) and 2) it's fairly low maintenance to run your own XMPP/Jabber server.  Oh well

Just start yourself a 'Rant.' thread in chaos.

I'm a decent ranter, too, so I know I'll help out and the rest will just fill itself in like all the other threads.

Ok, thread read and oc1's cheerleading and possibly some directionals from binks and Smokes natural sense of direction...drumroll please....the chatroom is a reality. I love a happy ending.
For those who don't want to read the whole thread you can consider this a summary or cheat notes...but be careful, there might be a quiz.

On the main page the last post is a link not a button, it's within a board that you should see the last post "button".  Are you losing the whole link to the last post?

That's the "catagory" view, not inside a board.  The buttons do not exist for that view I believe.

Jack did and it's a play on this word diaspora.  Great name I think.

I wanted to revisit this once more, because I have only now decided to actually SAY what is my favorite part of this board, and it has to do with the word that the forum is taken from...

The fact that it is a closed forum, we ALL REALLY GET ALONG WELL, and I know I enjoy EVERYONE's Company who is here, so if there was a favorite part of the board, that I could name, it would be the folks that populate it!
