Head's up:

District 9 was pretty bless'ed cool.  ;D 8)

In the interest of not spoiling a movie that just came out, I will say no more.

That's really good to hear. It looks really cool. I was really hoping it didn't get messed up, and it really would be good.

Apparently I saw the previews of this when we went and saw Pelham but I saw dont remember. The reviews are astounding from all age & genre groups. I suggested trying to get a good copy to download and the "Fam" said,  "Heck no, lets go to the theater to see it". So.........

I actually wouldn't mind seeing it again. ;D

That's really good to hear. It looks really cool. I was really hoping it didn't get messed up, and it really would be good.

From what Peter Jackson said, they made the entire movie without anyone from the Hollywood media ever asking one question of the production.

The film doesn't have any name actors in it, you see, so it probably fell off everyone's radar.

What 'action blockbuster' movie is made without having some big name douchebag to star in it?

Well, this one apparently and I think it helps the film tremendously to not have to cater to the action star's ego about what can and can't happen to his character, amount of screen time and dialog, etc.

For me, the fact that the hero was unknown and unlikely that made it better...

District Nine is gonna ROCK!

Hey guys,, got a new one the other day that surprised me.
Im not only into horror, but into the Sci Fi thing too ( ok ok,, im a geek, I admit it).
 Check out Mutant Chronicles.
SOunds cheesy,, yeah,, but its more Steam Punk than anything else.
Good idea,, decent story,, and a couple decent stars ( Ron Pearlman and Thomas Jane).

I liked it ,,,

You need to check out Outlander too,, good story, good cast,, good camera work, and one of the most original aliens ive ever seen.
Closest thing I can come up with as a comparison was Predater done in the Viking era.
I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.

World's Greatest Dad

I simply cannot express how surprised I was from this movie! I started to watch it thinking it would be another disney-kinda-movie with Robin Williams. It is not. I t is definitely not for little kids. It is one of the best dark comedies I have seen in a while and maybe one of the best movies in 2009. It is simply wonderful.

OK, the movie is not perfect. Personally, I could have lived without the happy ending.
Nevertheless, Robin Williams is brilliant in it. After crap such as RV and Night at the Museum, he has proven us once again he can play in a tragedy. Because this movie is a tragedy.

I will stop here, because I do not want to spoil it anymore. Just watch it.  ;)
