When people think of comic books, typically superheroes first come to mind, and while this is generally the case, comics have evolved beyond men in tights. In fact some even have strong female characters who aren't running around half-naked, so ladies, take note.
Here are 3 such titles:
Fables (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fables_(Vertigo))
The Sword (http://www.lunabrothers.com/bib_sword.php)
Y: The Last Man (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y_The_Last_Man)
That should be enough to check out for now... :)

Y: The Last Man sound interesting and look forward to the movie's.
-
Y has ended now hasn't it? I think I've read up to about the mid-30s (like issue 34 or something).
-
There 60 issues and the first movie is going to end around issue 14. (got all this from Jack's wiki link)

Yes, the entire series is finished and indie's correct it's only 60 issues long.

Does Tulip from Preacher count as a strong female character who doesn't running around half-naked? Though she is half-naked quite often :D

Yes, but her nakedness comes as part of the story, not because her costume was designed for maximum skin! :D
Lately, you mention 'strong female' and generally you get some g-string-wearing sociopath with a sword and enormous, gravity-defying breasts.

Yes. Smokester, seriously though, it is a very good comic series.

That's only because there were no comics in print during the Crusades, otherwise, that cover-concept would have been in reverse.
