Where do hamburgers and hot dogs go when they feel like dancing?

A meat ball.

True - I should have said "outvoting in an election", rather than "outnumbering".

Noem is accusing (whatever unflattering term for the mainstream media she can come up with) of "fake news" or distorting the facts.  It's kind of hard to distort facts when she's laid them down in print.  Maybe she's had one too many Botox or collagen injections and they've affected her ability to think.

That would be my recommendation. Unfortunately I get hooked by pilots and first series that appear to be good TV, with a promising hook. But nowadays I don't start watching a series - even the pilot - until Wikipedia tells me that the show has a successful conclusion.

Every now and then I'd tune into an episode of The X Files and it was universally grim.   To be honest, the Outer Limits (1960's version) was more effective as a show in a similar genre.  But my husband, who is in all other respects, a wonderful human being, just doesn't like SciFi or shows that tend toward the supernatural, so our prime time viewing is more limited, and I tend to watch this stuff alone, mostly late at night.  I never found any of the shows in your list especially compelling.  The Expanse was much more effective at introducing unexplained, or not well understood, odd remnants from a more advanced but defunct culture, but even those guys were at a loss as to how to end the books effectively.  They were well written and the series very good, but they decided to yank the plug without really finishing the books.  I guess it wasn't that much of a loss, but it was so well done that I was sad that it ended.

I'm afraid I never got to see any of those other shows.  Sounds like I shouldn't bother.

I agree with you except on the last point.  The genius of the modern GOP is that they are a minority party that has managed to prevail against the will of the majority of voters by taking advantage of spurious redistricting that splits Democratic leaning districts in ways that favor GOP candidates, and also there's the train wreck of the Electoral College.  A majority of Americans would never have suffered a first Trump administration, let alone the threat of a second one.  I can't explain South Dakota and Noem's electoral success.  Maybe the water has been polluted via too many agricultural chemicals and the brains of the populace have been affected to vote against their own interests.

True - I should have said "outvoting in an election", rather than "outnumbering".

So a brain goes into a bar and orders a beer.  The bartender says, "Sorry, I can't serve you.  You're out of your head."

So, you don't have access to a circuit breaker for your apt?  If the circuit gets tripped you have to bother the super?  That's kind of short sighted planning and I'm sorry you have to deal with it.  Presumably the electricity drawn by the toaster oven (hidden because it's a "forbidden" appliance?) is enough to trip the circuit?  Sorry, this sounds like a right pita.  You should be able to use a toaster oven without dealing with surges.  It's a normal appliance.  Sounds like who ever built this structure cut corners on the wiring.

I'm having the usual:  a cream scone with jams I made.  Today:  quince jelly and blackberry.  I split the scone and apply different jams to each half so one is main and the other "pudding."  I suspect that the cream scones actually have less fat than the ones that require butter and milk.  I made these with frozen heavy cream that someone gave me (I froze it as I couldn't use it up in time).  They turned out fine.

Jalepeno poppers popped a bless'ed fuse. Thankfully I found it before the freezer defreezed and got the fridge extendo corded.

Got a repair ticket in, but the B&D oven is well hidden now.

Those jalepeno poppers are going to end up expensive.

As to rich people dinners, my favorite take was david cross, and his was much less expensive. "You guys! This isn't worth $250!"
And then he went on the journey of the gold leaf food from the mine to his toilet.

Started watching "3 Body Problem" via a recommendation.
Never read or heard of the book prior to the TV series, Created by: David Benioff; D. B. Weiss; Alexander Woo,
so a reputable history.
First episode left me dumfounded as to what is going on, which I love.
