Title: STEAMAGEDDON.
Post by: 8ullfrog on December 19, 2013, 02:34:18 PM
I never, EVER catch the sales in time. This time I missed it by four hours.

But, IT'S ON!

God, I'm going to get no sleep until 2014.

LOL, someone gifted me a snowglobe after my last post. I really don't give a poo about them aside from an art standpoint, so if it doesn't detract from a badge, feel free to hit me up if you need one of them.

I'm still a little upset with myself about fetish-izing these badges, but what can I say? Rank gets me hot.

If anyone would like to assist in my weird fetish, please tell me the EXACT times poo rolls over. It used to be 9 AM PST was the gold standard, but that is clearly in the past.

That being said, I only made Sarge in Halo 3, maybe I'm a shitty lover.

ADDITIONALLY, if anyone could find out info on the vote I missed, AND when future votes are, I'd appreciate it.

Sell the cards on the market, you will be surprised how much money you make. All the games i'm buying this sale are because of the cards i've sold.

golly, I missed another vote.

Lonewolf gave me Max Payne 3 with the pass. He has an uncanny ability to know the games my machine can't run :(

I still haven't played JC2 (Machine won't run it)  I heard a rumor GTA5 is being announced tomorrow, which will give me a lock on what type of machine to buy.

What would happen if you checked a game with http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/?

It checks your hardware and gives results.

My gals Core 2 Duo Dell laptop (@ 1.6 GHz) won't play most new games.

Tomorrow being christmas day, lol!

I will be buying a new machine as well, atm looking around the interweb i5-4670/8gb ram/R9 270/1tb with a possible 120gb SSD is the way to go.

What would happen if you checked a game with http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/?

Next year Steam will have a feature where game pages will have it's own 'CYRI' system that will tell you if your PC has the hardware to run the game or not. As I always say, running a game is 1 thing, and then having 50 grenades and 1000s of enemies on your screen is a totally different thing.

I can run Oblivion on Medium.

The globe badge was not an easy one to get.

Oh that built-in requirements detection thing will be useful.
Title: Steam owed me one

Years ago, I had the Left4Dead games but lost them when my Steam account went south. The how and why is a long story but basically had to do with the email address I had at the time. Last month I managed to get the free Left4Dead xmas gift offered by Steam. Sweet--they owed me one.

When I check game requirements for my new tablet computer, I'd be lucky if it gave the thumbs up to Pong. However, on YouTube there are people running some quite high end games successfully by dropping the settings right down.

I'll have to use the good old-fashioned trial and error method.

Think I'll pass on that one and not just because WOT (Web Of Trust) flags it as spam. I could use one of my spam email accounts but don't want to endorse it on Twitter (I don't do Facebook).

Yeah, be wary of anything but the actual steam client.

I wouldn't use it either; I posted it cuz I thought it was interesting.
Last thing I'd wanna do is mess with Steam's (sometimes) fragile health.
