Since we've moved to the new version of SMF, I have been unable to use the Alt+S shortcut. Actually, I can use it if the page still happens to be loading, but not if it's already loaded up. For example, I can type my comment then hit Alt+S with no luck. This also blocks the "Post" button so I have to refresh the page before I can post. While the page is partially loaded, I can hit Alt+S and it will post but if I let it load up and wait a little bit, the above behavior occurs.
At first, I thought this was due to the latest Firefox I had installed but I'm able to use the Alt+S shortcut in the Dem fora, as well as others that I've tried recently so it's just this fora. I don't know if it some module added to the install or what but I was just curious as to whether anyone else has this problem.

Bueller? Bueller?

It never actually worked for me even with versions 1x. I'll have a look round and see if it a bug.
-
Well, I thought maybe it was a plugin that was interfering with the shortcut so I tested it running Firefox in Safe Mode. No love.
I'm running Firefox 3.6.10 [Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.6.10]

I just tested it on a testing board here and it worked fine for me using the same version of Firefox?
I check again for any reports on this bug.

Hmm, I would think it might be another TSR (terminate and stay resident) application I have running that's stealing the shortcut but it only happens on this fora. Demonoid and a couple others I'm on still work fine. I'll keep messing around with it when I have time/when I remember about it.

In your config is this key set to 5 (ui.key.contentAccess)?
-
No, I flopped ui.key.contentAccess (5 by default) and ui.key.chromeAccess (4 by default) because FF started funking this up several versions ago. Now I have:
ui.key.chromeAccess - 5
ui.key.contentAccess - 4
-
I have mine still at default (reverse of yours) and have no problem posting using alt+s. Maybe that is the root of it?
-
I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Maybe they defaulted back (but it's still odd that it only occurs on our fora).
