Title: Diabetes
Post by: brickbatz on February 09, 2018, 03:08:55 AM
Last night my blood sugar was 187 (too many mashed potatoes). I did a search "lower blood sugar fast". There were several suggestions to drink 2 glasses of water back to back and urinate as soon as you can. Also suggested was eat something high in protein. An ounce of cheese was on the list. I drank 2 - 12 ounce glasses of water and ate some cheese. It lowered my blood sugar to 127. Still a tad high but I can live with that.

I work with plenty of diabetic people. Some are useless at looking after themselves, some not.
Have had to represent a few when management have tried to discipline them for being late or acting (sometimes ridiculously) out of the ordinary.

Its a horrible slow working disease if not handled correctly.

3 tips to lower your blood sugar fast
Hydrate. The more water you drink, the better. ...
Exercise. Exercise is a good way to get better blood sugar control and keep your blood sugar levels in a healthy range as a part of your routine diabetes management. ...
Eat a protein-packed snack.

I don't get enough exercise. Got a pita (Sciatica maybe?) that makes walking a struggle. Getting old isn't for sissies.

You're far from ignorant ael. Thanks for the info. I just had blood work done. My next doctor's appointment is March 21st. I'll find out what they found then.
