That's what I linked him to above but I believe the Apad ships with a lead that adapts the mini-b port to usb which I think he has.  The problem Goldie says he is having is that it doesn't like the Card read via an adaptor and wants to find a dedicated usb mini-b type card reader that I don't think exist.

I can't really think of why a standard card reader isn't being picked up by his usb adapter; it might be the adaptor or it might be worth trying another card reader.  Could also be that the chewed, in-built, card reader port is confusing the card reader drivers if it is spitting a physical error.

I'd drop it again and claim a new one on the house insurance.

thought of it but it only cost ?125.00 and by the insurance took off ?50 excess then it wouldn't be worth it
Spoiler (hover to show)
[/color] ;)

i have this adapter but for some reason it reads the sd card then nothing.
as you say it may be a dodgy lead / adapter.
i have had it working with a memory stick so assumed it just didnt like the card  reader .

well today i will raid a box i have in the garage full of pc kit , cables / adapters / ram / web cams etc etc
and i will have a go at sorting this out.
i have a few adapter leads , from USB (female) to USB mini usb and will try then.
will let you know .

i'm thinking where did that year go  :o

I'm dreading tomorrow when my little girl goes on vacation with her grandparents.  :'( :D
She goes to Disney World with all her cousins (with her they're 5 kids  :o) so she'll have the time of her life but still...
Do my in-laws know what they're doing?!

Do my in-laws know what they're doing?!

As a rule, when I'm looking after my kids' cousins, I'm at least twice as cautious and alert with them than I am with my own children.

I agree, they'll take good care of her and she'll have a blast. What's the age of the oldest cousin going?

How, what was 'creeping' inflation, is now smacking me around the face with a wet fish.

Ah, yes, me too!

But I didn't mean it like that. I'm absolutely confident they'll take good care of all the kids. When I asked if they knew what they were doing I meant: Do they know what they're getting into?! Poor people, those kids must be driving them crazy!  :D

I agree, they'll take good care of her and she'll have a blast. What's the age of the oldest cousin going?

There are 2 girls (14 and 13 yrs old), 2 boys (9 and 8 yrs old) and then my daughter of 6 yrs old. The boys are constantly punching and kicking each other. The last time we talk on the phone the younger one lost a tooth after one of those bouts. It was a milk tooth and it was really loose but still...  ::)

I always mean it like that. I have virtually no trust in anybody in regards to looking after my kids - in fact, even their mother is lucky to get a look in :)
