That's bloody interesting.  I did a bit of reading on it and then googled this:

geomagnetic+storm+depression

needless to say I was quite impressed.

Our network was down at our uni for about an hour or so this afternoon.  Gateway router went tits up; outside couldn't get in and inside couldn't get out.  This also caused all our mail services to queue up and effectively "go down".  I blame this.

What should I buy for these kinds of storms? An umbrella or a tin hat?  ;D

Now, isn't it amazing how magnetic fields variations affects us? And I don't mean our ability to connect to facebook (which would be a cause of suicide for some people I know  ::)).
I mean at a cellular level. See this and this for example.

I think massive solar flares might effect our circadian rhythms and melatonin levels. Which might just make some people feel jet laggy, or a little crabby. But for people aleady on edge.. it could make them edgier.

It's always amazed me how people can be so synchronised to things like air pressure.  Like everyone getting up late on a particular day or an epidemic of headaches and migraines on another.  Some of these days in question do not seem any different to any other day to the naked eye, but usually there is a report of some meteorological oddity or something later that evening.
