I have had roasted soya beans and peanuts in salads whilst i was in germany.
never fruit though .
Isn't that a fruit salad then ?

There's a popular salad in my country called Waldorf salad. It's a must on buffet meals. We don't put neither grapes nor lettuce in it though.

There's another (interesting) one: grilled onions and oranges. I was shocked when I saw that on a table once. But I must say I enjoyed it. I think the dressing had some mustard in it but I don't remember.

this meat ball shop Ive went to , gives a side salad with watercress and thinly sliced apples, its really delicious

I usually have apple with my ploughman's too. Cheddar and apple is a fantastic combination.
