I could have sworn there used to be a "things you miss" thread somewhere around here, but maybe I'm confused. Search turned up nothing.

Anyway, I'm sitting here thinking of how great the show Adventures in Good Music with Dr. Karl Haas was.

I used to tune in regularly, and although I didn't quite follow everything he was talking about, he did somehow manage to make music theory and historical music seem much more relevant that anyone else I had ever encountered. I don't know how much I actually retained from his shows, but I do remember the show making the little bit I did retain quite an enjoyable adventure.

I wonder if it's possible not to think.  I've pondered that, and concluded, "probably not."
It IS the basis of meditation, but then you are trying to think about not thinking..

I used to practise yoga for a while. I truly enjoyed it until those 10 min at the end of a session when you're suppose to "not think". It was difficult the first few times. Then I decided to cheat and think anyway.  ;D

I think it's not so much "not thinking" as not directing your thoughts.  I've also contemplated the fact that to actually stop thinking would be a pretty futile exercise.
