My daughter is going to an Architecture seminar from 5/18-6/1 in Argentiera, Italy. She is SO excited. Ill take as much local review as youre willing to type. Lol.

Although I've been all over mainland Italy, I've never been to Sardinia. If it's anything like the mainland: tell her to be careful crossing the roads and take plenty of euros.

Sadly we dont have "plenty of euros" Lol. No doubt she'll keep busy but not with shopping. Here is the flyer for the trip. Smokes she was trying to talk me into routing the flights via London so she would HAVE to stay there for a few days either before or after her trip. Shes good.

Let me know if she manages to swing staying here for a few days.  I take it she would be here sometime pre the 21st or from the 31st onwards? I'm a bit swamped but I could certainly advise if I couldn't show her around personally.

So far the layover spots seem to be Turkey or Sweden to get a good price on a flight. But with an offer like this I will try extra hard to get London. The thought of her using her 9-12 hour layover time in a place that shes clueless about makes me nervous but I hate for her to waste it sitting in an airport. This way she's getting some good one on one advise from someone she could contact if she needed questions answered. Thanks for the offer!!

If she's flying into Gatwick from the U.S she can be in my part of London in an hour.  From here she could take in all the important bits in 4 or 5 hours (leaving her baggage at my place) and then she'd probably need to get to Stansted to go onto Italy (Ryanair is very cheap off season but be careful of hidden extras). If that would be her plan then I could take her around and get her back to Liverpool St where she'd get the train to Stansted. If she was flying on from Heathrow you can get the London underground right to it.

Mostly Liguria and Lombardy. I can't stop smiling even when I have to go to the dentist today.  ;D

It sounds amazing OC1. The right time of the year too. I've never been to Sardinia but your daughter will be staying (according to a friend of my mother's) near one of the best beaches in all Sardinia: La Pelosa

Summer has just ended here so we had plenty of sun. I just wish it doesn't rain. Rain could be a problem in Lombardy in spring. Last week it rained all over Italy except the very south.

The flooding there a couple of years ago was devastating. Mind you, that was much later in the year as I recall.

You could always head south.
