Went on another this evening before sunset. Much nicer, since I skipped the pier entirely. Didn't get that itchy neck feeling this time.

Mom likes the pier. I like it when it doesn't resemble a tailgate party with hooks.

The sunsets up here have been really beautiful lately.  Even this morning, looking out over the Bay with the low clouds on a rainy day was lovely.

10 pro seems to be destroying the hard drive on the tiny god computer laythy sent me. Just watching Hulu and the hard drive is grinding around at 98% usage.

I'm pretty sure Windows 10 isn't killing your hard drive. It would be in all the why 10 sucks articles if that was so.

I don't think that's the case either. I think it's just dying of natural causes. I'd clone it with Acronis True Image from a Hiren's Boot CD and put it on a new HDD or SDD. Hdds are cheap. Not so much with SSDs.

Yup, scorpions. Of the Tityus genus, specifically Tityus trivittatus in my area. They have a poison 10 to 100 times more potent than that of a rattlesnake. I've found a dying one in the back yard today. It's certainly not the 1st time. I both fear and hate those damned SOBs. They can reproduce both sexually AND parthenogenetically. I mean, come on! And this summer is raining quite often which washes off the insecticides.

I know what you mean: the other day I had a fruit fly that would fly past my monitor every hour or so. It was really, really irritating.

Ok, it wasn't "really, really" irritating, but it was a bit irritating nonetheless.

He's back. I think he's testing me.

Any minute now I'm going to break into a chorus of adverbs!!

Those sound really nasty.  I've been fortunate to avoid them most of my life.  Is there any natural predators you can sic on them or some form of control other than insecticides?
