Yeah.. Even if they unlawfully confiscate it, they can "hold" it till you die.

My new ish fountain pen has arrived.
A Conway Stewart 479 late model

beautiful

That's lovely.  I have a newish Parker Duofold International, but I think I'd prefer a vintage pen because the nib is still too stiff for me.  I had an old Pelikan that wrote like a dream, but it developed a crack in the barrel and I stupidly threw most of it away, although I still have nibs for it.  In the meantime, I mostly write with cheap German student pens with steel nibs that take plastic ink cartridges.  They're ok for taking notes in class, but I'd love a good pen with a flexible enough nib.

the nibs are worth keeping / selling Pelikan are collectable (too expensive for me to buy)
Have since bought

A tad scratchy but after a little TLC writes a dream.

I have a newish Parker Duofold International

very nice, have my eye on a Vintage PARKER DUOFOLD Lucky Curve. the photo is Orange but they state red on the advert.

Chinese pens are worth the money,

Those old Duofolds are beautiful.  I've never written with one.  I'm not familiar with the Wyvern brand you pictured.  I picked up a Parker 51 set once at a yard sale for $2, a pencil and fountain pen.  They're very sleek in their design, but the nib of the fountain pen is quite stiff.  I should probably sell them and use the proceeds to get something more comfortable.  I never use them.  I have some old pens I picked up many years ago at yard sales, but they don't function.  I probably should look into either trading them or getting them reconditioned.

Plenty of pen shops in USA or for that matter all over, Ebay is a good source for seeing what its worth.

Apparently Wyvern started off where I live in Leicester, shocked me.
Normally buy with my eyes more than my head  ;D ;D
Would love a Parker Duofold but can be so expensive and you could loosen the stiffness.
This turned up today in the post

Pete Burns (yes the freaky "Dead or Alive" bloke) stole by Mont Blanc along with my silver Dunhill lighter. I always vowed to get them back, that is, up until he had that dreadful plastic surgery.  Now he just scares me.

He "actually" stole them from you? Not that I don't believe you. It's just that he looks like a fictional character.  :D

Talking about stealing, my husband has a client that's a cleptomaniac. Not a normal thief (we're quite used to those, unfortunately) but a real cleptomaniac. The things she does and the way she acts... very, very weird.

This is a "copy" ?  I'd love a MontBlanc.  There's plenty of places to buy fountain pens in the U.S.  There's a guy in Providence RI who restores and sells wonderful vintage pens, David Nishimura, who I met at an antiques fair in Boston.  He has a lovely website (vintagepens.com).  There's plenty there that I'd love to have, but, alas, my current minimal income stream gets in the way.  As soon as I'm again gainfully employed, this is among the things I plan to look into.  The Parker I have (the International) is a revival edition, so not as nice as the vintage models, but pretty well indestructible -- it's built like a tank, of modern plastics and metals, but that stiff nib is a drag.  I like more flex, and the old Pelikan I had was lovely for that reason.  It was fluid and effortless.  The Parker wears me out if I have to write a lot in a single sitting.

He had a crush on me during my DJ days and kept "accidentally" holding on to my belongings when we parted ways after a club or bar etc. My flatmate was adamant he was performing voodoo on said items.  I kid you not.
