I use a mouthpiece at night (Doctor's NightGuard) as suggested by my dentist because of grinding.  You'd have to try really hard to swallow it.

The link also has a $5 off coupon that you can print.  I'd also check to see if various drugstores have their own generic version of this, since it's a simple plastic cradle for your upper teeth.  I'm not sure if the thing you are supposed to wear is to keep you from grinding teeth, or to keep your mouth open so you can breathe?

I was given/made one about 20 years ago.

Used it once, so far.

I use mine every night.  I don't get headache's from grinding my teeth but my jaw can ache for a couple hours after waken up sometimes if I don't.  Also, it's helped tremendously with my teeth sensitivity to cold as grinding is a big cause of recessed gums.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States. That doesn't mean most people get the day off though.
