I like them better than the traditional cherries.

I'm reading they're sweet and flavorful.
I love summer fruit. At least the strawberry season is starting where I live.

I prefer them in champagne. Now that's "living".

...with fried egg over medium with thinly sliced shallots and shiitake mushrooms...

That could make pretty much everything taste great.

In an attempt to lose a bit of weight, I have been knocking up a huge dal at the beginning of the week and having it daily with some plain rice and a chapati.

Tonight saw the end of the current batch and I'm already missing it (I truly adore the dish). Roll on next Monday!

I had a cream filled choux bun. Some chocolate topped, mint cheescake. Some birthday cake and a custard doughnut.

It was my niece's 10th birthday which I couldn't attend, so it was all brought home for me by my lot so I didn't feel left out.

That's a whole pastry shop.  :)

Talking about calories gone wild:
Last night I did a gratin dauphinoise on steroids (potatoes, cream, butter, sauteed onions, garlic, and 3 kinds of cheese).
For dessert I did something typical from my country. It consists of layers of ladyfingers (savoiardi/ sponge fingers) soaked in moscato wine (Port or marsala work even better but they're way more expensive) and layers of a dulce de leche pudding, and topped with dulce de leche (the more the better). A calorie bomb!

I've never met a calorie I didn't like and I find myself particularly fond of yours.
