I am replacing the a lock on one of the doors and one of screws in the door knob is stripped. I 've found some possible remedies online but I just check here incase those don't work.

If you can just get a millimetre or so of it showing, you can get a pair of grips on it and turn it out.
If you have a 1/16" drill bit you can kind of chain drill a groove back into it that will allow a flat head screwdriver get it out.
You can also buy a tool that looks like a drill (and fits into one) that will cut itself into the screw and unscrew it.
^ They are the three methods I use most often.

Do they make Easy-Outs small enough for screws?

If it's a round knob with 3 screws in triangular positions, you can remove the 2 good screws and the forcefully pull the knob so the last one wrenches out. Then when you've fitted your new lock you can replace the knob but turn it a few degrees so the screws are in new timber.
It's a brute force method but quick and as any damage is hidden by the knob, it doesn't really matter.

it is a round knob with two screws I was able to get one of the screws out. I will try yanking on it. There wasn't enough of screw left to even bother using pliers. if this final method doesnt work, I will see if my neighbor has tools for to do the screw extraction.

woot ! brute force worked, once the door knob was off. however the cylinder took a little extra elbow grease to pop it out.
thanks for the help. :)
