I was having a problem getting the Windows 10 update. It kept failing. I tried everything I could find to get it to update for 2 days with no joy. I reinstalled Windows 7 hoping that would fix it. 300 updates later it still wasn't available. I was digging around and I found this. It worked.
Installing Windows 10 using the media creation tool

Let us know what 10 is like.

I like it. Had to reset my default programs. It automatically set Microsoft Edge as my default browser, changed it back to Firefox. All of my programs still work. I customized the start menu tiles.
If you ran your programs from your taskbar or desktop shortcuts you wouldn't see any difference between 10 and 7.
DirectX 12 (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/directx/archive/2014/03/20/directx-12.aspx) was my main reason for upgrading.

That comment seems to have sold my son into upgrading. I wonder why?..
