and I should get screeners for Benjamin Button, Slumdog, and The Wrestler next week... 8)
Just for a reference, my mom loved it when I showed it to her and she hates pro-wrestling.
Tonight is "Vicky Cristina Barcelona"
I was surprised I liked Gran Torino as much as I did. I found Clint Eastwood character both
hilarious and touching :)
...and even a cameo by an embryonic version of Pee-wee Herman.
HOLY CRAP!!!
How is it possible that I have gone 10 years since this movies release and not hear anything about the "real" movie? Watched Fight Club last night. Yeah, yeah I know. Why just now? But I really would rather watch Horror blood and gore than actual blood and gore so I avoided it. But last night I watched it and F&^$IN' A how awesome was that!! Im assuming everyone has already seen it so I will speak freely here.
The only critism I have is that I wish the Fight Club part of the movie would of been alittle bit shorter and the Reality part of the movie would of been hinting around sooner. Maybe I should watch it again? Maybe that was happening and I missed it...........
Anyway, great movie and Im glad I finally took the worlds advice and watched it.
I didnt know it was adapted from a book. Must get to the used book store tomorrowIt's not that good :-\
"Who you gonna call?"
Ghostbusters - Rent / watch / download if haven't already
"Who you gonna call?"
Thought it was very reverant when the girl threw it right back at him, got a serious chuckle out of that.
Can we add the button that hides spoilers?
That's not spoiler worthy!!!! But sorry for those that think so.
AGAIN!!! Sorry...........(http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_9_12.gif)

Don't be.
In Bruges is a brilliant movie that should have won more Golden Globes, at least for the Best Comedy. :-\So very very underrated. My favourite movie of 2008.
It is funny, intelligent, intense, intriguing, smart, well-paced, great acting and ironic.
Now, I do not want to spoil it for you the ending, because it will ruin the magic of the movie.
I will tell you only this: Life is weird, ironic and absurd. This movie shows it very well.
A brilliant absurd/dark comedy movie.
Revolutionary Road - 5/10
Whatever..........It's a "day in the life" story and it is so not my cup of tea. Well in my case, coffee.......Kate was good in it, I dont think she should of won an award but shes a very good actress so, why not. I guess. Leonardo looked 12. Not cast well at all. But thats just my opinion.
the next Winslet movie I'm seeing is THIS ONE (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0976051/)I really want to watch this too.
You left out the "cons" of this movie.
But the movie that really got me today was "Religious", by and with Bill Maher...
I watch Changeling a couple nights ago.
Guys,,checkout Midnight Meat Train.
Best bludgeoning scene in history there,,a guy is hit so hard his eyespop out.
Yeah,,this is girlfriend slips on one of his eyes!
Wel,that and its just a damn good horror movie.
It's highly recommended...
It recap'ed my sentiments on religion pretty nicely...
I haven't actually. I'd like to, but currently it is going to take me at least
at least a week to view all the seasons ;D
Is it similar to Tron? Even if it's not, it doesn't really matter.
I'm not ashamed to say that Tron kicks ass on its own :)
It's like Tron in that you get to see what life is like inside your computer. I loved that show...
I liked TRON in the 80's...
Haven't seen it in recent decades because it might break the illusion...
Frank..? input..?
Prepare for Tron 2.0 :D
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1104001/ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1104001/)
Prepare for Tron 2.0 :Dno no no no

Me too.
Yeah, I watched a trailer for it. Not really my taste in horror flicks.
I've seen much worse than baby eating on the silver screen ;DThen go watch it SERIOUSLY its hilarious. Kinda like Raising Arizona meet Jaws
Nah, I don't watch any horror movies made after 1959. I stopped leaving the tv on for the noise because of the ads of new movies. I'm a sissy, unless it's something over the top, unbelievable.
the Family Stone.
i adore this film. has laughter , tears , touching moments.
An uptight, conservative, businesswoman accompanies her boyfriend to his eccentric and outgoing family's annual Christmas celebration and finds that she's a fish out of water in their free-spirited way of life ( from imdb ).
My daughter is the same way. WAAAAAAAY to literal.
PUNISHER: WAR ZONE
BRUTAL... as Punisher should be...
;D ;D ;D
Slumdog is really good and I am surprised that you have just seen it since it is on the net since the beginning of the year.
I saw it and here is the CMF's view of Watchmen.
First, the movie is awesome on special effects. You cannot ask more!
Second, anyone should see the movie, either if you have read the graphic novel or not.
Third, kids should not see it for the following reasons:
-and they will probably get bored because of the dialogues and not that much of action.
Now, the movie was made for two audiences: people who have never read the novel and those who have.
For the first ones, watch it, it is an excellent movie.
For the others:
Still, the movie is pretty cool and, if you have not watched it yet, what the --------- are you waiting for?????
OC,,Check out Clive Barker's Midnight Meat Train.
I recomend it to any gore fan.Awsome story too.
It made me think .
I haven't seeen him in anything..er I don't think. I have The Go-Getter on my 'to watch' list.. that's him in that right?
Hhhmmm.....I will be watching this tomorrow. Check out his films on IMDB. Go for Thumbsucker first. I think I know you well enough to call that as enjoyable for you. ;D
Gosford Park (2001)
I watched it just for the cast, honestly, and I'm a fan of Kelly MacDonald. Good film, much intrigue. I had to concentrate quite a lot just to catch what the characters were saying :D Seriously, all the cast was outstanding, except for maybe that American producer, SO ANNOYING (no offence to Americans out there, he was just irritating).
I hear they're remaking Bonnie and Clyde with Hilary Duff as Bonnie. That PISSES ME OFF >:(
Tell No One (2006)just checked up on the film and i love Guillaume Canet, so i'll give the film a shot
Recommended
the movies are the only adapted book movies I have ever seen that do the book justice.
I think the HP movies are well done but I still agree with CMF...a lot of the content (some pertinent in my opinion) is cut.
And it was 2:40 long!!
Really? I found it shorter.OMFG I was/am so bless'ed mad they cut out
Maybe it is because it did not respect the book. :-\
mmmmmmmmmm looks different.
although i'm not a horror fan i may watch this.
Actually, the Hogwarts battle is in the 7th book. I also thought it would be in the 6th, but then I checked the wiki and it says it is in the 7th.Well, it's not an all-out epic battle. But the students and teachers did put up a fight. Oh the wands in the air thing was totally WTF.
Listen to this disclaimer: This movie is beyond twisted. It is disgusting, bloody, vicious, tasteless and demented and for any true horror fan (which I think RG and I are the only 2 here) it is a must see. DO NOT watch this if this type of "thrill" does nothing for you!

I have a movie called Altered that really scared me, and it takes alot to do that.
STARDUST
It looks like a children's movie. Fairytale and fantasy. No, it's not, it's pretty gruesome at times too. Yet so awesome. If you watch a lot of Brit TV you'll recognise some of the actors/actresses, pleasantly surprising. Quite a bit of dry humour as well. This movie's a good bit of fun.
Uumm...yeah...this is just a blatant disregard for human decency kinda thing.
Sort of like the impression I got of "Irreversible"?
That movie was well done. It's always a relief when they turn a novel from an author I like into a movie, and they don't ruin it too badly :P*coughharrypottercough*
I'm worried about how a 25 year old can play Annabeth
I jumped over to watch trailers of this film and it seemed to be more a suspense/thriller type of movie. Deadgirl is pure horror. I may have to check out Irreversible though, have you seen it Dweez?

Read/seen any of the Ludlam Bourne books/films? I won't say the movies ruined the books but mostly because the movies are completely different from the books. I wonder if Ludlam even had a say it the screenplays. BTW, based on IMDB, there's another Bourne movie slated for 2011 (and a friend of mine said he actually saw it somewhere that there are actually 2 more slated, not just the 1.I read a few Ludlum books, and he's not that great a writer to put it mildly. The plots in his books do translate well to screen though.

I cant remember a time when the leading man in a romance movie wasn't cute.
Zack and Miri make a porno..?
you got me there, i forgot about that movie probably because it was so horrible.
I just finished watching Deadgirl and it is pretty effed up!
It is the weirdest zombie movie I have ever seen.
A nail-biting thriller to the end with a slight touch of fantasy :)
Unlike most of the horror movies, I liked it.
OC1, if you have other good suggestions like these, keep them coming. ;D
Timothy Olyphant was so sexy in Hitman. Geez, I'm so f***up if I think so.
Head's up:
District 9 was pretty bless'ed cool. ;D 8)
In the interest of not spoiling a movie that just came out, I will say no more.

That's really good to hear. It looks really cool. I was really hoping it didn't get messed up, and it really would be good.
( ok ok,, im a geek, I admit it).
ok ok,, im a geek, I admit it
You need to check out Outlander too,, good story, good cast,, good camera work, and one of the most original aliens ive ever seen.
Closest thing I can come up with as a comparison was Predater done in the Viking era.
World's Greatest Dad
It is one of the best dark comedies I have seen in a while and maybe one of the best movies in 2009. It is simply wonderful.
OK, the movie is not perfect. Personally, I could have lived without the happy ending.
Nevertheless, Robin Williams is brilliant in it. After crap such as RV and Night at the Museum, he has proven us once again he can play in a tragedy. Because this movie is a tragedy.
I will stop here, because I do not want to spoil it anymore. Just watch it. ;)
could you tell me the ending?
Is that your way of saying that I said to much? I put it in "spoilers" so as to not give anything away. But if you really want to know the ending you have to watch the movie. ???
lol no that wasnt my way of telling you that you told to much. I just like to know the ending to movies im most likely not going to watch.
i saw District 9. it was good, i just didnt like the ending.
nice to see the bad guy get away with it. :D
I actually liked the ending, and thought it was a decent set-up for a sequel. Out of curiosity, what didn't you like? :)
I enjoyed District 9 quite a bit all the way through. You think they'll make a sequel?
