CMF, is Kotio male or female?
Your cat is lovely, CMF!!! :) British shorthair?
One night, while I was watching the TV, he scratched on my door, I let him in and, since then, he never left. :)
I have no idea.Kotio looks very pure-bred :)We found him.He found us, actually.

This is Lucky, there a sad and sadistic story behind how we got him and why he's called Lucky. :( >:(
Wow, indie that superglue thing makes the mind recoil. :-\
I mean, it's clear the person didn't want them, but did they have to make sure they didn't have a chance? That's bent up...
But Lucky turned out to be a beautiful cat (I am partial to blackies, by the way).
Basil is awesome. Does he like his tummy rubbed? I would hope so with fur like that... :D
By the by, I am proud to say that my apartment does not smell like cats. :)
Do you have any tips for stopping them from eating plastic?

I currently don't have any pets. :'(how come? if it makes you sad not to have one, why don't you get one?
has some stipulations regarding them.
amazingly many cats you have frankc. how do you manage with the smell? do you have 4 litterboxes or just one huge one?
I was wondering how he can find somewhere to sit :-\ :)
what's so weird about your dinah that make you think she not from earth?
Is he flipping you off?
The Punk sounds like he needs a date with a squirt gun... :D
Sure does look like it :D
That doesn't work. A full glass of water doesn't work either :(
is he mean to the other cats?
are there many homeless cats in the us?
I don't know if it has changed since I heard this a few years ago, but in California,
cats are legally considered feral animals like possums or squirrels.
HUH? you don't have to report hitting wild animals with a car?
I haven't read this whole thread so I've gotta see what Frank's got going on.
Thanks, Frosty. Chile is a girl, btw. If she was boy, there would be no Adolf in my house. :D
And Chile I'm sorry I thought she was a boy - and don't mention the Hitler hairdo thing! :P :DThat's okay. I didn't specify what each pet was. And I won't mention Hitler to her. :D But that name would fit Mateo... His nickname is Evil-doer. :D
They are. I do like taking care of them, though.
How many of them sleep in your bed with you?:o NONE! I have a no pets allowed in my room rule. :D
:o NONE! I have a no pets allowed in my room rule. :D
That's just not an option for me. ;)I'm a neat-freak so I can't handle them in my room. That's one less room for me to clean. ;D I can sleep with them when I sleep in another room with a bigger bed, just not mine. I'm lucky that the cats like to sleep on their cat tree/scratching post or in the FR or LR.
You find it difficult to go on extended vacations MaxDreamer? No. I have a really cool neighbor that takes care of the cats when I go on vacation and I take care of hers when she goes on vacation. And the dogs get boarded at local kennel.
That's a nice situation you have worked out there :)Yup, it works really well. :)
They do look similar. I got Aslan in Fresno, maybe Pudder and him are related ;DThey might be distant distant distant cousins or something. ;)
If you don't mind me asking, why does he only have 3 legs?
This is/was my baby who passed away on boxing day, :'( :'( :'(
the vet asked me have i used any new non stick pans,
i said yes ,and he stated that new pans give off a toxic poison that
can kill birds ,and a breeder lost 8 birds in one day just cooking dinner.
sorry about your cockatiel Max :'(Thanks lemmings. It happened a long time ago, I still feel a little guilty about it. :-\
huge nutty spazz is a good description of
buster,he can be a pain in the neck at
times , but i love the little poo :D
Yeah! Lets be girls for a minute. "Jus wook at that wittle face!! I jus wanna kiss it":D :D :D :D :D :D :D
I have to admit, kittens do something similar to me, as well, puppies too...A sensitive man... so very modern. :D ;D ;)
i always find it interesting how we people in the Occident get all fired up about animal cruelty, not that i'm for it certainly not, but during my stay in india, i've met a lot of indians who would mock about this character trade: they would see that people would get all worked up about the bad conditions of stray dogs, while the people in the surrounding village were very poor and therefore in agony as well. i always thought it's easier to focus on the suffering of an animal than human beings, at least for me it is. seeing a bunch of dogs suffering of scabies and malnutrition and being kicked at if they come to close isn't a nice sight.
i hope you won't all start yelling at me now ::)
Jackfrost your cats looks great together esp in the second pic!
How does Hazel get along with the baby ???? Any interaction yet ??

We had Cats that learned how to open doors by hanging onto the handles
same food dish's as me.
The one's you eat out of? Or, your dog's dishes? :D
Well they are both Westies ;D
Though Mac is larger than average
and his ears don't stand up
Yorkies --- Grrrrrrrrrrr
I always had cats up until I was about 30 but have been too selfish with my life after that to take on another one. All this looking at other people's pets has made me yearn for a little moggy of my own again :'( Hell I have the space and the back garden and I am a stones-throw from Battersea dogs home (yes they have cats too) so maybe I'll look for one this week :)
Smokes, do you remember this post? Ive been going back through and wondered if you ever did anything about this?
Here we have Pepper on one of the random bits of cardboard I used to leave for the mice: (http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff252/chekovsulu/mice/pepper06.jpg) Here we have Pepper preparing to escape. They jump fairly high and she nearly made it once. Nearly. (http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff252/chekovsulu/mice/pepper12.jpg) Second attempt XD (http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff252/chekovsulu/mice/pepper11.jpg) Pepper inside the Weetabix box: (http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff252/chekovsulu/mice/pepper01.jpg) Here is Pepper before jumping off the top of the Weetabix box: (http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff252/chekovsulu/mice/pepper09.jpg) Here's salt in the little ball they enjoyed rolling around in. (http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff252/chekovsulu/mice/salt03.jpg) Here she's on it. (http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff252/chekovsulu/mice/salt07.jpg) She's looking at the webcam here: (http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff252/chekovsulu/mice/salt04.jpg) And sniffing it here: (http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff252/chekovsulu/mice/salt05.jpg) She used to hide in here a lot, she was a bit shy: (http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff252/chekovsulu/mice/salt01.jpg) When they were both in the green ball, it never went anywhere - they wouldn't cooperate. (http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff252/chekovsulu/mice/both4.jpg) Pepper didn't want to run anymore. (http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff252/chekovsulu/mice/both2.jpg) It was hard getting these pictures, they wouldn't stay still. I eventually had to return the mice to the original owner :( ...This is our lil puppy during her first year with us. God I love this dog. Lift your glass with me to toast Gretta. CHEERS!!I had no idea doggies grew up so fast! :o |
He's really cute, with those white hairs in his mustache. :)
...she lived to be 21 years old.
:o That shows how well you took care of her.
Without going into details, cause Im not really into crying, our girl is having some failing health issues. It's made me very nostaglic over the past few weeks along with not letting her leave my side except to potty and even then Im not to far away. Gretta and all of these posted 'family members" are such a dynamic part of our family life. Im glad that we've taken the time to show our appreciation to all of them by honoring them here on this thread.
I scanned a couple of framed pics that I have to send out to my family to give them an update on Gretta and how's she doing so I thought that i would share it with my Diasfora family too.

I am RE-posting this in honor of Gretta. She passed away this week and we are really having a hard time with the loss even though I know that it was for the best.
Did Gretta like to swim or did you coerce her into the pool. :D
He's gorgeous. So cute with his white whiskers. :)
nice kitty.
what happened to socks.
did he just vanish
Did Socks come to you when you called his name when you lived together? Im not being pesimistic but if he didnt then Im not sure he will now. He was such a lover, someone has probably adopted him and is taking good care of him. Do you have "animal shelters" where you live? Have you checked there? Did he have any tags on him?
Willo went missing for 6 days very recently
as she had never been out b4
I did not expect to see her again.
It's lovely! With those long white hairs on a darker background! He didn't define his eye color yet.
Gorgeous huh?
They look blue to me.
Yes, what I mean is he's still young and his eye color might still change.

Awww, and she has your eyes OC.:D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Everyone meet Hazel. She is a 6 month old German Shepherd that was abandoned in a neighborhood and luckily the people who found her are friends of ours so they reached out and now we have a new family member.
Awww, and she has your eyes OC.Im not NEARLY that pleasing and compationate. You, of all people, should know that.
Look whats living in our Yucca plant in the front yard!!That's why we cut our Yucca plant down. Never found an animal it, but better safe than sorry.
is that a raccoon ? arent they Nocturnal ?My thoughts exactly! But I guess if you dont have a home you will find one whenever the need arises.
That's why we cut our Yucca plant down. Never found an animal it, but better safe than sorry. Why is it unsafe? I think its actually a teenage raccoon and this was it first apartment because it didnt do a very good job of picking it out.

Thank you. :) She is lovely and she got quite larger in just a few days.
She's a Bichon Frise (http://www.google.com.ar/images?hl=es&client=firefox-a&hs=bsX&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&q=bichon+frise&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=YByeTKzoMsGAlAey99HsAg&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CCsQsAQwAA&biw=1045&bih=514) although she doesn't have papers to credit her lineage. ;D
Red's a good name for a white dog. :)
Does she have a name yet?
Why not?I approve of the name Cubby because I used to have a cat with that name. :)
Supossedly "Cub" but my daughter calls her something that sounds like Cubbie. :-\ :D
Thank you. :) She is lovely and she got quite larger in just a few days.

really , doesn't look like a bichon .
wash her face near the eyes everyday with water , stops the brown staining bichons are renowned for ;).
This girl's a poo machine!! :D
At least as Puppies they are
Really?! That also happens in England? :-\
Unfortunately no Socks :(
As you can see the above pic,Chester's the spitting image, the only difference is Chester has a white nose, everything else is Socks the bushy tail everything.
I just hope he's lording it up in some old lady's bungalow.
They're quite resourceful aren't they,he's a friendly Cat too.
Hello! How are things with you?
How are things in Argentina too,i always take an interest as my Grandmother's Argentine.
Bumpy. As always. I can't say I'm not used to it... :D
Sandy reminds me a lot of a kitty I had as a little girl. Beautiful hair color. Can I get that at the hair dresser's? :D
Thats eerie Nobby. Our two blackies at 11 yrs old. Such beautiful animals
New Kitty = Tigger

Well I was in the Garden :P
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v211/Nobby_UK/ME/b0b59341.jpg)
Talking about pets, our "$%&/ bichon tonight escaped from my mom's house and I had to chase her one block in high heels. I'm too old for high heels and I'm too old for chasing dogs. :(
Pix?
Shih Tzu ?Yes apparently a cross with something,, no idea what, but he snorts like a pig and has a squashed nose/face.
Black is unusual
X post us a pickie of your bichon
So similar to ours but bigger than our Bichon.

^whats this mean?rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr = thats nice
both doggies have had a Severe hair cut. trouble is it stating snowing
Meh, I would have kill him and my daughter. :D ;Dme too
XT you should show her ohC's condo for her guinea pigs maybe it will inspire her?
;D sounds like vince and howard are a happy couple. are Guinea Pig's easy to take care of? and do they live for a long time? we had a class hamster once but it didn't last the year. They are very easy to care for except for the nails. Im terrified to clip them but when Annas home she does it really quick. Their life span is 5-6 years, but I have a feeling they will last much longer.
Wow, that's a small city you built there, OC1. Nice. One of my nieces have one and I always thought the place she keeps Rocco (that's his name :) ) is a bit small. He doesn't seem to mind and she takes him out of there for long whiles in the afternoons but still. :-\
did you keep the babies?? or give them away?
I must've missed mishca's post. When did that happen, mishca? Is this the dog you've been talking about in other threads?
So we had to euthanize her she had also stopped eating.
That must have been really tough for you and your family. We had to do that about 20 yrs ago and I remember that day as vividly as if it was yesterday. Again, sorry mishca.Ive never thought about that till I read this. I remember every minute the morning we had to take our girl. Every sound, every movement, thats weird.
have any of the dogs decided it would be a good idea to chew on neil horan yet?
Nah, they're very intelligent dogs. They're going to take it to the garden, set it on fire and tost with a beer.
A member of my family bought a Cane Corso. They're going to cut its ears... :'(
they look much better with floppy ears.WHAT you dont like the bear ears she makes him wear, lol
WHAT you dont like the bear ears she makes him wear, lol

Cane Corso - Holly Moses- a beast of a dog, never seen one, why do they cut the ears ?
he had surgery yesterday and I was able to bring him home today. He's still a little out of it and he didn't quite believe I was there to pick him up from the vets office.
Miss Kit Pet-her-paw (named by our daughter because she liked to have her paws stroked)

most would say "Its a rodent why bother"
What was the origin of the abcess? Was it a tooth?Yes, is was but unlike my mental image of a tooth that has abscessed the format is very different. When I think of an abscess tooth I think of what its like for humans but unlike us these creature have a tissue mass that starts to grow and then releases a HUGE amount of infected fluid. Her jaw looked like she had a golf ball, a hard golf ball stored in there. When the vet looked at her teeth she had broken one and they think that was the cause. Of course the guilt that overcame me was unbearable. HOW did I not notice she had a broken tooth?!?! The Dr did say that this can all occur very quickly and its not surprising I didnt notice but I hold my piggies daily, I should of noticed. She also had her teeth clipped. AAAHHHH!!!!!! But after that was done she ate consistently!! Crazy! We took her back for surgery today.
Awesome! :) she's on the road to recovery. I bet within a few days she will be much improved. On her hind legs nibbling hay. Thats my girl!
It's very good to hear your pet is doing fine, OC1. She's definitely a tough girl. This is like surgery in an 80-90 yrs old. Surviving anesthesia was probably the toughest thing. And now she's eating?! It looks like she's going to be all right.Damn, I didnt think of it that way. And I think that I will choose NOT to now. ;)
I'm glad the vet was able to operate. I spent a ton of money on my last parakeet's surgery, but she was too far gone, cancer ridden, and died on the table. At least I felt I'd done all I could for her. I hope your Vince will soon bounce back to normal. Its devastating isnt it 6P? I mentioned recently that I had to put my 17yr old kitty down. I was NOT ready to say good-bye to another loved one so soon. Howard is the girl that had surgery and like Mischa mentioned Vince is her partner.
The Vet could not see the ear canal --- too much wax
but at least it was not inflamed.
She gave us some drops to massage in ---
that will be fun :D
Sure hope he grows into the skin. :D
5/26/2014 - My lil girl died in my arms today. I loved her very much and we are grieving deeply. Thanks for cheering us on friends. I REALLY appreciated the support.
I personally cry every day but its getting shorter each time. Those freakin animals held my heart in their little furry hands.
When I hold Vince I feel like I owe him an undying apology. My fault that his life partner is gone.
she would frighten me ;D ;D
lovely
My bird has decided that he's in love with my hand. This is sort of weird. I have to tell him to knock it off. The more annoying aspect of it is the love bites. He thinks my hand is another budgie.
