Title: The Misadventures of J..... Part Three "Computers"
Post by: Jhb48430 on September 17, 2009, 07:26:05 AM
For the past year, I've been trying to update Vista, to SP1.  But for some reason, it would make my computer blue screen and crash.  And I'd have to call for tech support and have them help me.  So I stopped trying to update it.  Friends told me, "You know there's an update for SP2 now."  And I'd smile and nod and say... "Yup, I know."  *cheesy grin*

Someone told me to go to the Microsoft site and get the update from there, because maybe Windows Update was doing something stupid.   ::)

So I did, and I was VERY leery of updating it, because I really didn't want to see the BSOD.  And go through the hassle of calling tech and getting MORE help, because Vista is stupid

It worked.  I was very surprised, and speechless for all of 10 seconds.  It was great.  But then I would get notices to update that whole week for other things.  And I did.

And then, finally.  There was the update for SP2.   :-\

If they do abandon it, I want a free copy of the next one.  It always feels like I'm putting in twice as much effort when doing stuff on Vista.

Windows 7 is very nice.  Everything Vista should have been.  Been using it since the public beta was released.

I actually have access to a free copy through school. I guess as soon as I get my internet fixed I should snap it up.
