Title: Apple IOS 10 update
Post by: goldshirt*9 on October 19, 2016, 12:03:49 AM
Son updated his Iphone 5 to the latest IOS 10?.
Anyway he now has no rear facing camera, he has tried other app's and went for a visit to the Local Apple store tech guy.
Apparent Tech guy stated as you have had a screen replacement this latest update can stop the camera from working.Basically tough I cannot do anything.
I wish I was there as it was wifes and friends before and no screen was replaced  >:(

So any ideas anyone of my Apple knowledgeable friends.
Have googled and some suggest re installing an older IOS, is this possible and how would I inform him how to do this????
If I cannot remedy this problem then I will be paying out for a new phone for him,him being a student and having no money (even though he's off skiing in December with the UNi  ??? )

Apparently Apple dont have(in that store) any iphone 5 available amd the camera is integrated to the motherboard so no repair available, offered discount on another phone in exchange(iphone 5s +) but as he has just paid for a skiing trip (Students pfft) he will have to wait a while.

Personally, I wouldn't stand for it.

But then again, I'd never own an iPhone.

... or a Samsung, I presume. Windows Phone? Blackberry?

These days I'm back to Motorola.

Does that give me a special dispensation from Apple fans?

I have steadfastly refused to update to iOs 10.  I hear it slows down phone's response times, messes with mail, etc.  It's frustrating not to be able to go into settings and demand it quit pestering me to update software I'd prefer not to update.

what makes it frustrating for me is I dont have a apple phone (have a mini ipad which I think is way superior over android pads) so when asked for help I have to trawl internet as they could do themselves  >:(

have now been voluntered to makes some ringtones for her friend who has a apple phone. O the joy

I don't know any Apple fans to ask.

That's a coincidence, neither do I.
