It seems the colours in the drop-down list was already in order, except, I recall it being purple followed by orange rather than the reverse. Internet doesn't seem to picky about this though.
Edit: If you're feeling pedantic, you can do it with the real rainbow colours, but that's no fun. :P

Maybe it's a regional thing. The order I've listed it the order I remember it. Maybe time has altered the memory. Time's always doing that >:(
