I saw it..well, sort of. I had it on, but was doing other stuff too. The whole clue thing was too funny :D

The movie's supposed to be really good. I hope so, it would have been sad if they messed it up. The worst comment I've heard is that Kirk's hair color keeps shifiting ;D

I can't wait to see Simon Pegg as Scotty. He's so cool.

A friend of mine said she loved it even with the CGI motion-capture rigs still visible.

I've always felt that Star Trek didnt get as much support/attention/money as is the no. of people out there who love it, I think in its own genre it is massive and deserves more.

I didnt want to see the Wolverine one, it isnt fair to Jackman  :-\ , I mean, I really like his acting and he's spend an year training and body building for the movie, and people just took his moment away from him  :-\  :-[ . I think that is unfair.

Yeah, that's one thing about prequels too...you at least already know who's NOT going to die.

 :D ..in old Star Trek it's never too hard of a guess who is going to die though.. It's always obvious who in the landing party is going to get nailed.

Yeah, the thing with prequels isn't really about what happens, but how it happens.
That's really what makes them fun. So even though you know how it's going to end, if the story is
interesting, you momentarily forget.

yup..like in old Star Trek you always knew Kirk had gotten busy when he had his boots off  ;) ..in the new movie he gets a full-on hip thrust money shot :D

Actually..in all fairness.. I don't think it's going to be a money shot. I think I've sussed what that scene might be about, and if I guessed right..it could be very funny.

Yeah.  Ok, they have an away team.  It's Kirk, Spock, Bones, and Yeoman Johnson.  Hmm, who's gonna die?

Also, pretty much every girl that Kirk has kissed, with the exception of Uhura, died.  Also also, I believe it was in Shatner's contract that whenever he was in a fight scene, his shirt had to get ripped.

I liked the Star Trek conversation on the first season of Lost

Boone is explaining the redshirts to Locke and said that Kirk would take several people on away missions and one person (who wore a red shirt)  would always die and Locke said "Doesn't sound like a very good captain"

It feel like Star Trek remade by the CW (specially Smallville).


Seriously though, I loved the movie, sure ti didn't had Klingon subtitles or as much inaccurate philosophical tech babble, but damn it was cool.

This Kirk got his ass handed to him in every fight he was in.

The movie was incredible!! We saw it at an IMAX theater so it was ex-incredible.  :D I only have one negative thing concerning the script (obviously dont read if you havent seen it yet)

the 2 Spocks should not of met. Period. It was an unecessary scene and didnt contribute to the story line in my opinion

Saw Star Trek again today. Regular screen this time. I love this movie. The chatter of patrons was pretty consistant leaving the theater: "solid script", "awesome future potential", "perfect job of integrating old and new" AND my daughter said to me *spoiler alert*

Why the frick did an advanced technology ship have all those chasms and pitfalls where the captain decided to hang out (the de facto bridge).  I understand that it's a futuristic sci-fi flick but come on...common sense says that advanced engineers wouldn't make a star ship that perilous to navigate through.

I understand that, even though it is a highly advanced ship from the future, it is just a mining  ship but common sense dictates that engineering and design make it fairly simple/safe to navigate through.  I mean, one of the fight scenes takes place inside the Romulon ship and the whole time you're wondering if someone is going to fall off the platform and fall the thousands of feet (or more) to their deaths.  What sadistic ship designer WOULD EVER think to put something like that in a ship.

The original "Yes". Although my daughter, who isnt much younger than you, says that it is really hokey but she likes getting to know the original characters.
