For all those of us who live and would like to live according to the illogical ways that we have today that at every turn not only oppose but destroy our nature, I say this:

Good riddance  :P, no one will miss you !!

Watch the documentary Life after People. It's amazing how unimportant we are in this world.

First of all, the most endangered species might die off with man gone as it has been man that has enabled the re-population of several endangered species...

Secondly, pollution was here BEFORE man, it will be here AFTER man... The planet STILL has volcanoes, there are STILL catastrophic earthquakes that bring up some rather peculiar gases from the Mantle of the planet...

Mars, later this summer will be the brightest since 250 years ago, so light pollution will not be dimmed all THAT much!

Anyway, Venus has so much pollution on it nothing can live there..  We did not cause that.  The only thing that will be missing, if man was gone this instant, is man...

Ciao, CZ

I was refereing to man as being a virus since we dont  have a natural habitat. We dont adapt to fit a situation, we adapt the dituation to fit us.
As for polution, well, it was worse millions of years ago.
As for the myth that we destroy all the forests, in the US alone there are more trees now than there was 50 years ago.
Our streams are cleaner than they were 30 years ago.
BUT,, since Chernobyl, we are about 6 times more iradiated.

I could argue that since humans are the most adaptable species on the planet (even if we do change the environment, instead of changing ourselves, we are still adapting), and humans are the most fit, so we deserve to be the dominant species. As Darwin said, the best adapted survive and reproduce. By that token, why shouldn't we continue doing what we're doing, which is making the world an easier place for us to live in?

However, I believe that the world needs to be in balance for everything to work right, and if we keep going in the direction we're heading, our adaptability will be our downfall, and the universe will eventually re-balance itself, with humans in the picture, or not.
