Title: Get the picture Game
Post by: Discover99 on January 23, 2009, 12:44:37 PM: I will ask for a photo and the first person to post - must post that photo (their own photos only).

That person, then asks for a photo. And so on.....

There are not too many rules, only that you have to post a picture of the object asked.
If there is no picture within 24 hours after the request, the first one to notice that can post any picture and ask for a new picture.

When two people post at the same time, the first one to post stays, the other one has to delete his/her picture.

That's a little wind-up figure I have of a character named Arale from a manga/anime called Dr. Slump. I dunno why they colored that stuff in her hand pink (it resembles soft serve ice cream) when in the manga that would be a brown pile of poo. Arale has this thing about poo - don't ask - but it's hilarious... :D

The billboard I wanted, up until a few months ago I guess they took it down, had a tattered ad for the film Fight Club on it. Yes, Fight Club, released in 1999 and nearly 10 years later the ad was still up. I'm sad I didn't get my camera in time to take the picture... :-\

When she was about 2 years old she crawled into the kennel with Gretta and we got a great shot of the 2 of them together and we just turned it into a "thing" that makes us all laugh and we will do it until she refuses to get back in there!!! lol ;D

I won't be able to do this for about a month. :(

The last watch I bought is apparently the most complicated watch known to man. The battery was running out and everyone I took it to to get a replacement flipped out over the thing and didn't want to even attempt to open it up! ??? So I ended up having to mail the thing to the bless'ed manufacturer just to get the goddamn battery replaced. I'm in California, their headquarters is in New York and they tell me to expect a 4-week turn around.

Up the street from my house is a shopping mall. This mall was once the local city mall until the mid-90s when it fell on economic hardship after the dot.com bust (which as a side note should make you go 'hmmmm?' when considering that the last 'financial crisis' was only a little over a decade ago - but I digress) and virtually everything in the mall went out of business.

But just last year they completed work on the new Bella Terra Mall, rising phoenix-like from the ashes of the former mall - the Burlington Coat Factory is one of the only things that remain from the original mall, the rest having been built up around it. I realized I forgot to take a picture of the rest of the mall, but needless to say, there are more shop off to the right of the edge of the pic:

And while to some, the very existence of the mall would be frightening in itself, this preamble was only to give perspective on the actual scary place:

For some reason, even though the rest of the mall was torn down and rebuilt, this monstrous, derelict Montgomery Ward storefront remains. It is literally right next to the new mall:

It even has a ghostly remnant of the former sign that adorns the facade:

The entrances are routinely smashed in and are periodically boarded up:

The boards across the upper part of the building are blocking where you could enter the Ward's building from the second level of the original mall when it was connected to the storefront:

It's also interesting to note that even though the new mall has only been open for a little over a year, ALL of the storefronts that face the abandoned Montgomery Ward are out of business:

positive energy?

Animal Crossing always (location of picture: my house in my AC town) makes me happy. It never fails me. Even if I only play it for 5 minutes. Lots of other activities and places make me feel good everyday.. But, Animal Crossing just has this odd powerful way of wiping everythng. I get immediately happy, then in an even harder way to describe (because I can't place the reasons exactly)..it even centers and puts into perspective the real world for me.

EVERYONE that grew up in my neck of the woods worshiped this guy. My husband even had a full size poster of him when we met, 10 years after Sammy had retired. A co-worker that knew of Freds obsession and when Mr Carter (real name) came into to our restaurant for dinner one night she got an autograph. I helped her frame and mount it and I think Fred almost cried when she gave it to him for a Christmas gift. ;D He had it on his bedside table for 3 years. NO pics of me or the kid, just Sammy. I eventually was able to get it moved to the wall.

Here's something I made. While this looks like an average bottle of newcastle, it's actually a bottle of my blueberry mead:
