Title: Explain your sig
Post by: CMF on January 24, 2009, 08:45:06 PM
I had to this one after the avatar thread.
There are so many sigs in the forum.
Some are strange, other funny.
But I bet there is a good story behind each one of them.  ;)

Mine's currently just a bad translation of some Asian sign. I'm not sure what it's intended to say, but I don't think it actually meant to prohibit fun.  :D

my sig is about lemmings the game ,that i first played
on the master system.

now its on pc with the cheat levels ,

i find the game very therapeutic ,as you die if you dont

concentrate ,and i play the game to take my mind of

things that are bugging me,

I stole the image from a buddy of mine who was using it as an avatar on another forum.

My statement comes from one of the Strongbad e-mails over on www.homestarrunner.com.

As I was telling frank, that film is amazing in that there is no CGI. Somebody actually trained that cat and that monkey to do that so they could film it.  :D
Title: Re: Explain your sig
Post by: CMF on January 26, 2009, 08:00:20 PM
what's the movie?
Title: Re: Explain your sig
Post by: JackFrost on January 26, 2009, 09:47:38 PM
what's the movie?

The chimp washing the cat in frank's sig?

I haven't a clue if it even comes from anything else. It was clearly filmed some time ago, but they show the clip on The Daily Show occasionally and it always makes me chuckle. I found it awhile back and it makes an awesome .gif.

I was going to use it myself, but I don't like having animated avvy and sig together (except at PPF, but that's what they get for having that visually abrasive design scheme :D) so I gifted it to frank.  :)

Especially because with that herd he's got, that chimp might become a necessity for him.  ;) :P :D

RG - you need to replace your avatar text with:

Code: [Select]
[img]http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff10/Robin_Graves/1423722.jpg[/img]

i.e. remove the surplus "http://"

And IMG tags or it won't work. Nevermind I did it for you :)

That car just won't cut it Jack, it looks like a bog standard 1600 possibly a GT (the Brits in the house will know what I mean).  Frank wouldn't drive anything less that the 3.1 V6 and I see one went a few years ago for $64,000. Although it was special, it's looks are very deceiving.

I started to say Capri at first, but saw the ford on the hood
Title: Re: Explain your sig
Post by: Robin-Graves on February 12, 2009, 09:43:17 AM
Just goes to show cultural differences.
A capri/pinto is a nice car in GB.
Here in the US, acapri/pinto is a flaming death trap of a joke lol
I think it had to do with the explosions they had when hit from the reear here.
Knowing the auto makers,we were theones that got the factory rejects.

Yeah, Iaccoca was in charge of Ford at the time and they knew about the defect and the fix was about a $1.00 piece of metal to shield the gas tank.  Iaccoca didn't want to do it because at the time, he was trying to get the price of a card down really low (at least that's how my history teacher in high school told it).

Looks like the Capri came first.

Although the Mk1 Capri (which is the style in my photo) was actually only introduced a year earlier than the Pinto

I dont know whether American car manufacturers cant make a decent car,,or if they cant make them for us.
To me,,the last good car was made back in 1981,,anything after was too disposable and looked too much like an electric shaver.
Cars havent had style in decades here in America.
People will argue about the new mustangs,,,but the truth is that the real mustangs havent been made since the early 70s.
 Heck,,give me a 1957 Chevy Bel Air,,,with tail fins.
Now THAT was a car with style.

My first car was a 49 DeSoto convertible. I traded a horse for it. It had a spotlight, a real Elliot Ness-type car. As old as it was, it ran like  a top!...and this has nothing to do with my sig...sorry.

My sig was designed by a close freind, Playboy Jimmy Candler , when I was a mod on another board. "Theres nothing wrong in the world that cant be fixed by doing whats right" is kindof a philosphy I live by.

Thanks. If I change it, it's because there'd be a more suitable current image. It's not that I get bored. Instead there's just too many interesting things to ignore. So I like to swap avatars when I have the time.
