Man, that looks like the nuts.  Was this the film that had it's title earmarked so it couldn't be used for "The last airbender"?  I remember reading that there was some kerfuffle over it.

I am a CGI dame truth be told..

Aye, that's pretty slick.

I will look out for that one, I thought Resident Evil Degeneration was good but that look's better.  ;D

James Cameron has made some of my most favorite films ever, so I'm really looking forward to this.

He's apparently had the idea since before Titanic, but when he took it to his CGI house Digital Domain, they told him they were years away from being able to realize the concept for him. I hope it's as epic as it seems...  ;D

I want to know more detais about the story. But.. I don't want it spoiled either... I'm torn as to whether to do more beyond looking at the trailer. The planet itself is super cool. All of it is. I hope it's good.

Y'know I do, too.

But when it comes to filmmakers that have given me great flicks in the past - like James Cameron and Pixar, for example - I try really hard not to give in to the urge to find out more. Then I can experience the film without any kind of preconceptions.

In fact, as an example from Cameron's work, the trailers blew a really cool part of T2 by letting you know that Robert Patrick was the new Terminator.

If you watch the film, the beginning more or less parallels the first flick - Arnie shows up and is menacing, then some human guy shows up, given the veneer of benevolence by impersonating a cop - both of whom are searching for John Conner and both catch up to him in the hallways behind the Galleria.

There's a neat shot that shows the barrel of Arnie's shotgun pointed right at Conner's head while the 'cop' approaches. And it isn't until Arnie tells John to "Get down" and blasts the cop that the reversal is revealed.

But the intensity of the scene is deflated by the viewer already knowing who's who...

^*agrees*

the Avatar trailer is super frustrating because you barely even get audio teasers. But, I really do like it better when I don't know something ahead.

Haha dweez :)

I hate spoilers, but not as much as I hate when people go out of their way to kill a story for me. Like my best friend's brother told me about the significant death that was to take place in the 6th harry potter book before I read it. And he even told me the meaning behind the title of the book  >:( :'(

I thought that was the poster for Avatar the Last Airbender.  I was ready to hate Shyamalan even worse than I already do.

James Cameron, who also wrote the film, is not typically known to have overly complicated stories.  ;D

I accidentally read a spoiler today. I am now sullied :-\

lolz.. there could be a first time for everything :P I'm still trying to sort the end of a movie I saw months ago. I'd be happy for a simple plot ::)

So it's a drinking film?

yes.. the fate of the hero is settled with an hour of the movie devoted to beer pong :D

Exactly the reason I just don't wanna know...  :D

Well considering my list of his best works:

Aliens (easily my absolute favorite)
Terminator 1 & 2
The Abyss (unedited, of course)
Titanic (yes, I really do like this movie)

All of them were really easy to follow. And Cameron claims that Avatar is his tribute to every science fiction book he's ever read, so I expect more of similar story structure. However, I could end up being completely wrong...  :D

^ LOL @ tribute to every science fiction book he's ever read :D That would be hard for me to meld together. He's a better person then me.

If you ditched titanic.. I agree with your list :P

The best part of Titanic for me were the ending credits. I knew the pain was over at that point.
Avatar looks cool, Ill watch it before I pass judgement.
