Weird.

The thing that really incences me is there's no way to directly contact them.
That goes for a lot of web sites.
Come back good old fashioned pen and paper,PLEASE!

The account doesn't need to be activated, could you use the new account, login and report the error you have been experiencing?

*Edit: >_< disregard that

Gee, utorrent has an IRC channel on the P2P-Network IRC Network.  If you're familiar with IRC, you can get to it with the following connection command.

/server irc.p2p-network.net -j #utorrent

I use it all the time.  The P2P-Network IRC Network hosts IRC channels for a bunch of torrent sites.  Been in the Dem IRC channel for about 5 years and used to be a & (admin) in the channel until the regime changeover.  I even started a #Diasfora channel but I'm the only one in it currently.  In all actuality, the integrated chatroom we have here is much simpler for the IRC-uninitiated.

If you are using Firefox, use this add-on:

IRC is pretty confusing imo. I have used it lots, but I've got nasty memories attached to its usage that I'm not strong enough to shake, so I simply ditched it. I'd say for Gee's sake though, using chatzilla like Diabolico suggested would be the easiest way to get acquainted to it. In actuality, it's pretty much the only IRC client I have used extensively, seeing as to how traumatized of mIRC I became having used it a few times in Egypt to get a scanlanted manga series(a whole other story >_< ). There's lots of good attached to using it though, so if @ Gee, if you decided to go through with it,I think you'd pick on it fast. And you'd be able to contact the utorrent crowd and find out what's going on.

Using IRC for xdcc (filesharing) is a horrible experience, especially with the wrong client.  The Invision script for mIRC worked great.  I've used x-chat 2 and irssi on Linux and mIRC (w/t NoNameScript, w/t Invision script, w/t Polaris script, etc), Trillian, and irssi on Windows.  IMO, for beginning IRC users, x-chat 2 on Linux and plain vanilla mIRC on Windows is easiest for the basic IRC chat purpose.

But for filesharing...it's horrible.

Yeah, just the whole complexity to it, and how I was indeed trying to collect some manga + anime, it all just threw things off for me I think. Not many people I assume would be using it for filesharing at the moment unless they were directly connecting to someone in order to swap some kind of important info, which would still be naive given the various other methods out there, and also the lack of encryption on IRC's part(i think?) . But yeah. I use torrents for anything I need. But I've also been interested in trying out usenet, and it's funny because it was the first method of filesharing out there so you'd think lots more people would know more about it. But yeah.
