Title: Things that made you laugh today
Post by: nouseforaname on January 11, 2010, 07:47:20 PM
Well some girl on this forum just asked for an illegal drug to keep her awake and first thing that came to mind was something that doesn't do that. Laced weed. I looked it up because I was curious on how other people have delt with it and came across this:

This dude's night must have been crazy as hell haha

That's my story today. What made you laugh today?

Doesn't sound a whole lot different to Temple Ball which has been around for centuries.  All that really did was give you a trippy high.

Something that made me giggle this morning is the amount of extra chili I put in the Pakoras I made for the missus' workplace.  It's lucky she works for a General Practitioners!!

Watching the crazy guy running down the street this morning from a dog trying to attack him. That was funny!
You just got to know the back story about him and what he does.

This didn't happen today but two days ago. My friend and I went to Walmart and on the way out of the car we saw this black dude dancing like no one was watching outside of his car.

Hahaha that reminds me of when I went to Food4Less with my dad. This dude ate a whole bag of fried chicken while walking around the store and didn't get caught. Another time I went there, this guy was standing near the grapes and just ate them from the vine as if no one watched it happening. I know this happens all the time but it's just messed up. A whole bag of bless'ed fried chicken hahaha

When my dad goes shopping, he picks up a bag of grapes and eats them while he shops.  When he gets to the till, he either decides he doesn't really want grapes and puts them to one side or asks me to run and swap it for a new bunch.

Hahaha it's funny because he doesn't stand there eating them then walks away when he's done.

While I was taking care of my nephew and after feeding him, he threw up like a waterfall all over my bed. I wasn't even mad. I laughed because for being a baby, he looked cute, innocent and cold whereas his puke smelled like hot vanilla on my bed and throughout my room. That made me laugh today. And there he was about to cry haha

In this site: http://store.slackware.com/cgi-bin/store/spolo?id=AAqte4nk&mv_pc=105

The sizes they have for Slackware T-shirts are:
Medium, large, extra-large and double-plus large :D

I thought that was funny because they don't think boney people will buy it probably because only fattehs use Slackware.

My job is bless'ed unbelievable. I?ll try to sum it up for you by telling you about the folks I work with:
First, there?s the supermodel wanna-be chick. I?ll give her credit, she's pretty bless'ed hot. But she?s constantly fixing up her hair, or putting on make up. She is extremely self centered, and never considers the needs/wants/desires of anyone but herself. She?s as dumb as a box of rocks. I?m surprised she has enough brainpower to continue to breathe. She must suck a mean richard, because the boss keeps her around.

The next chick is the exact opposite. She?s probably one of the smartest people on the planet. Her career opportunities are endless, yet she?s here with us. She?s like a -10 on a scale of 1-10. I?m not sure she even showers, let alone shaves her womanly parts. I think she?s a lesbian, because whenever we pass the Home Depot, she moans like she?s creaming her panties.

Finally, and the jewel of the crowd is a bless'ed stoner. I?m not talking like an occasional toker. This guy is baked before he comes to work, during work, and I?m pretty sure after work. I would doubt he?s been sober in the last ten years easily. And he?s only 22. He dresses like a freaking beatnik throwback from the 1960?s. To make it worse, he bring his big bless'ed dog to work. Every bless'ed day I have to look at this HUGE bless'ed DOG! This thing usually walks around about ? stoned from the 2nd hand smoke. Hell, sometimes I even think it?s trying to talk with its constant bellowing. Both of them are constantly hungry and require multiple stops at McDonalds and Burger King.

Anyway, I drive these hillbillys around in my van, and we solve mysteries and poo.

People at work are super funny, so they make me laugh every day... but yesterday, everything was quiet and one of my friends out of nowhere said 'don't taze me bro!'. I actually cackled. It was funny because it was so random, and it had been a year since I'd thought of that guy.. and it was the end of the day and we were slap happy.

Happy-slapping is bad.  I know that's not what you meant, but I just thought I'd mention it :(

I've recently been playing around with Slackware on my old PC (CLAW).  After logging in, Slackware likes to display a little message, mostly quotes and jokes.  Today, she said:

Those of you who think you know it all upset those of us who do.

I thought it was funny.

person1:  Eew!  That's disgusting!

person2:  (while coming out of his room) What did he say?

person1:  He's just admitted to peeing in the shower!

person2:  You can't do that!  Other people use it!

person1:  Yeah, and I'm normally after you in the shower in the mornings!

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sevenzip/forums/forum/45797/topic/3555739

Quote
i've been searching for answers on whether or not .7zip and .rar files are lossy.

Just in case you don't know, a file being lossy means that over time, it will drop in quality. Mp3's are lossy. An mp3 downloaded to a harddrive in 2000 in 126kbps, will sound terrible if we opened it up today in 2010. Mp3's lose around 5 kbps of quality every year.

The reason why im trying to learn about whether or not .rar and .7zip flies are lossy is because I have recently stumbled upon the fact that many things are lossy, not only mp3s, like jpegs. Png is a lossless format of image files i think, and flac is a lossless format of music files.

So I'm wondering if there is such thing as something that compresses a file that will make it lossless. Like, if I compressed an mp3 126kbps file into 7zip format in 2000, and reopened that file now, would it still have retained most of it's sound quality? Or would it have not made any difference at all?

IF .7zip / winrar files are lossless, then could you backup a lossy format (jpeg/mp3) and not lose quality simply by archiving it in .7zip / winrar?

I shouldn't laugh, but it's funny how wrong it is!

I like this reply:
Quote
Well, music seems to be getting worse every year, so its quality is lossy that way, and then, on the broader scientific question, we're all lossy over time, and so all memory and data are lossy. But perhaps there are lossless things.
:)

My friend and I went to a welding shop blocks away to get a quote to get something done on his car. On the way there, down the street from our homes, he always mentions how he owes this auto repair shop a bunch of money for a car he used to own which he doesn't have anymore. The repair shop is literally down the street in the residential area. So on the way home while turning down our block, he had his windows down (he recently got tints) and the owner of the auto shop was standing right outside staring at my friend. We both laughed as my friend asked if he noticed him lol

Well he has got a head like a bless'ed orange.

Gervais and Merchant did a radio show several years ago and Pilkington was their producer. Gervais used to put him on air and just ask him questions. It was pretty hilarious. I "borrowed" them from Big D a couple of years back, maybe they're still around.

This is from the extras on Gervais' "Politics" DVD. (Warning. Some of the content of the following clip may be offensive to some people)

Someone called the house wanting to speak to my father, but they never actually said his name.  It was just Mr <surname>, and because they didn't seem to understand me telling them that "there's more than one of them in here" I took the call.  They said they were working for the Ministry of Justice and wanted to know if I've taken a loan out recently.

The first person was a lady, and just told her I haven't and when she asked about anyone else in the house having taken out a loan or had a credit card and just when on a bit.  Eventually she handed the phone to her "manager", which is what made it funny.

His accent was the worst imitation Australian accent I've ever heard, it was terrible! :))

If you need to know the end of the story, I just tried to keep them on the phone for as long as I could until he asked if I was <my dad's name>.  I said no and that was the end of that :(

By the end of the conversation, his accent was Indian :o

I overheard my dad telling my mum that I spend too much on razors, so he got me this nice expensive looking one for ?2.  He got me Gillette Venus razor.

I think he's serious because when I was very young, I overheard him saying that women's leg hair just falls off.

Haha that's pretty funny.

Today I went on a picnic with my family and my cousins showed up, young kids like 3,4 or 5 I believe. While playing they just start picking up sticks calling them "bats" and asking me to throw the soccer ball at them. I do but every time the younger one has the stick, the older one just pulled the poo out of it from behind and he fell straight to the floor. Whatever involved them hurting each other made me laugh.

I was woken this morning by my 4 year old daughter jumping on me and I could see that she had already been to the kitchen to get herself a drink.  I asked her to get me a drink of juice as I was parched and she obligingly trundled off.  A few minutes later she arrived back with my plastic sports bottle - the type you have to really suck on to get the liquid out - and she said she could only get a little of daddy's juice in it?  I shook it and it felt like about an eggcup full of water so I smiled and sucked hard to get it all in one and got a bit of a shock.

It's in a really hefty crystal decanter and I don't think the little mite could lift it properly.  I was a bit shocked that she even attempted to and have moved said alcohol to somewhere out of her reach now.

I'm a creature of habit.  I've had several avatars/sigs "donated" to me but the last time I changed was well over a year ago.  Before that, my last "change" was probably 2-3 years ago.  But keep it up man, I know others are benefiting from your hard work.

Nervous laugh counts? Anyway here's what happened yesterday. I picked up my daughter at the gym and at the bus stop we met one of her gym buddies and his nanny. We climb up the bus together. The kids sat together and the nanny and me remained standing next to them. The kids started talking but all of a sudden the boy looked at me and said with a high pitched and loud voice: My dad hit my mom... Out of the corner of my left eye I saw the face of the man sitting behind the kids and I couldn't, I just couldn't hold back a smile. When I smiled the boy said: Hey, I told you my dad hit my mom!! Yeah, pal, like I didn't hear you. And then: When my mom was pregnant with me he hit her. And he's a liar because..., etc, etc, etc. Out of the corner of my right eye I could see the nanny like a Greek statue looking straight through the window without moving any facial muscles. Geez!! For what I could gathered later the dad isn't living with them anymore.

When little kids are literal it's super funny :D It's good though.. it shows she trusts her mom's word implicitly, and that means lots.

I think indifference. I really couldn't tell what she thought or how she felt. Maybe she should've been nominated for best actress yesterday. :D I thinking about what her internal voice was saying, that's why I snickered.

The reading of best actress noms starts around 4:17 if you'd like to see it.

Agreed.

I have mentioned this before, but I seriously think Katie Holmes is a robot. There is "nothing" behind her eyes when she's doing interviews either. There is not one thing appealing about her to be honest and I've thought this since she was on Dawson's Creek.

on our way to the bus stop, there was a dead rat on the corner.  For some reason people don't like to look down once  in  a while to see where they are walking, so naturally this guy steps on the dead rat, he yelled sooo loud , it was funny.  on a side note seeing a dead rat is super gross.

A review of "Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son" on imdb:

Quote
A Brilliant Look at Transgenderism within an African-American Family
18 February 2011 | by equinizzle (United States)

*** This review may contain spoilers ***

In the vein of films like "Boys Don't Cry" and "Transamerica", "Big Momma's Like Father Like Son" dares to take on the taboo subject of transgenderism, a subject so often dodged by both mainstream and independent cinema. Yet this film dares to travel further into the taboo by displaying this theme with a backdrop of the relationship between an urban African- American father and son (a community that often shuns or ignores LGBT issues).

This dramatic comedy stars Martin Lawrence as Malcolm Turner, a frustrated man stuck behind his tough machismo identity, as both an FBI agent and African-American father. But the viewer quickly learns that the machismo displayed by Turner is guise to the true identity that liberates him, that of Hattie Mae Pierce, a confident large elderly black woman.

Unable to connect with his rapper son, brilliantly played by Brandon T. Jackson, the younger Turner is invited into his fathers secret world, when Hattie Mae Pierce takes a job at an all girls school, and insists he join him as a student under the guise of a female identity. But the line of Turner/Pierce's life between housemother and FBI agent becomes complicatedly blurred while trying to give her son a first hand understanding of her chosen lifestyle. Meanwhile the son grows increasingly tired of masking his true identity (thus finally understanding how his father feels) and ends up rejecting the transgender lifestyle for a cisgender one after falling in love with a female classmate.

As the film closes with Malcolm Turner finishing a final FBI case, father and son, n?e, mother and son, head back home, both equipped with a better understanding of who they and each other are and what their relationship truly means to one another. Bravo to director John Whitesell for making such an inspiring addition to LGBT cinema! 5/5 stars.

Trust me, I know the feeling. I had a period of time where I had to bike my way to college, 17 miles going and 17 miles coming, 5 days a week. Not to mention that there was a whole lot of uphill on a single speed road bike, I swear to god my legs gained at least 3 inches worth of muscle in that short span of time.

We were eating at this little hole in the wall earlier tonight.  The CP took out the straw from his soda bottle.  Seeing me raise an eyebrow, he shrugged and said "Manly men don't drink with a straw.  So I'm not drinking with a straw."

Then there was the other day when the CP tapped me on the shoulder and asked: "Mommy is it true that you need to have sex to make babies?"  Before I could open my mouth to reply, the U had already jumped in with "It's true Ahia!  It's true!"  The CP turned to me for confirmation and I told him it was true.  Before I could add stuff about asexual reproduction and other stuff, the U was very smugly telling the CP, "See, I told ya."

It wasn't today but last night.  Power was out and I was cooking downstairs (imagine how fun that is  ::) ).  Kids showed up and I asked them what they were doing there.  They gave three reasons: 1)they loved me 2) they were scared of the dark 3) they wanted to hug and kiss me.  Then to demonstrate how much they loved me, they started singing "I love Mommy" to the tune of Bad Romance.  It was rather fun watching them sing and dance while using their flashlights as effects.

You gotta love kids.

It is, however, wrong. If the player is deemed by the referee not to be interfering in play, then he is not offside.

Actually it was a new young Italian guy in La Baita where I go.  The manager is like my brother and the staff know that so poor young Giovanni was completely distraught that he'd thrown it out.  It wasn't his fault, it was a certain weeny girl who wrapped it in a serviette and left it next to used serviettes - it was always going to happen.

Imagine this: A friend, her 2 girls, my daughter and I, all preened up for a girls day out, in the food court of a mall fishing the napkin wrapped retainer out of the trash can. Yup, they're expensive so we shrugged the amused looks off and we ended up victorious.  ;D

Some quotes by George Best:

- I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

- I used to go missing a lot... Miss Canada, Miss United Kingdom, Miss World.

- I've stopped drinking, but only while I'm asleep.

- In 1969 I gave up women and alcohol - it was the worst 20 minutes of my life.

- He cannot kick with his left foot, he cannot head a ball, he cannot tackle and he doesn't score many goals. Apart from that he's all right. (On David Beckham)

- If I had to choose between dribbling past 5 players and scoring from 40 yards at Anfield or shagging Miss World, it’d be a hard choice. Thankfully, I’ve done both.

Something made me laugh yesterday while I was out having lunch.

I was in the Italian cafe I go to which is run by my best friend Antonio, when I said to him:

"Yesterday I discovered that I could never be Italian."

"Why, what happened?" he replied

"Well, I was cooking a risotto for dinner last night and I had a glass of wine left in the bottle especially for it. When it got to that stage, I couldn't resist just putting half of the glass in the rice and pouring the other half out for myself."  I told him and went on say:

" Don't tell the Maurizio (the chef) as I feel ashamed that I put myself and the wine before the food.".

He paused for a moment and then replied:

Spoiler (hover to show)

The view from the room was poor and obscured by iron bars. Facilities were rudimentary to say the least - no television, mini bar or ensuite facilities. Due to overbooking I was forced to share with a rather charmless individual by the name of "Mike the Hatchet" who was keen to know why my stay was so short. I sought out the shower facilities in the morning and had to queue and was then told "not to bend down for the soap" by a somewhat surly member of staff. When I went to check out I was interviewed by a panel of 3 people who asked a lot of strange questions such as whether I had kept my nose clean etc. For some reason my departure was met with some unruliness by the other guests who banged their mugs against the iron bars and shouted obscenities. The only plus point was that after checkout I discovered that reception had forgotten to charge me for my stay. even though my stay was free I.m afraid I cannot recommend this establishment.

My daughter smiled in her sleep. It was so cute and innocent. She then proceeded to fill her diaper rather loudly... No wonder the smile...

Today I was trying to figure out the glitches in my dual router setup and while looking online for some help, I came across this youtube clip.  His terminology is great ("giga" what?) and strangely for all his mumbling around, it does get all the important information in there, somehow..

How do you all find larger sizes of a posted image.  I know how to use a reverse image search, I wondered if that was the only tool for things like that.

Just google till the size you want is there .or search by image size.

Maybe not funny but it gave me a giggle.
When we left the car park today in the centre of Leicester, we indicated the car parking space was available to a family who were cruising for a car parking spot.
When we pulled out the family and another car who was behind us both pulled into the space. :o
Arguments ensued, all the time other spaces appeared around us.In the end they both left their vehicles half in half out of parking space and then cleared off.
I imagine a hefty ticket was left on their screens  ;D ;D

Read this on one of my former Girl Scouts FB page. Made me very proud:

Quote
Tonight was the first time I went to a church in a long time. The pastor/priest/I'm not sure what he's called wanted people to donate money to put women's names who have abortions in the newspaper. I then made God proud by not slapping him across the face. It also reminded me why I don't go to church.

Someone once pointed out that Americans wear their fanny packs on the front but they call the rear the fanny, and the English wear their fanny packs on the back but they call the front the fanny. Odd phenomenon or stupid observation. You decide.

Number 8 is scary all round.

My son was born with a birthmark of 3 sixes, seriously.  They've kind of blended into one another these days but at the time I figured that if Satan was going to be reborn, I'd be pretty safe as his father.

Hopefully.

I have an England Shirt from the 1994 World Cup. They made some shirts of the most popular nations (well, at least the nations that they thought most likely to sell) and sold them in the US, before England failed to qualify. I delighted in the irony and snapped one up, just so that I could make posts like this one twenty years later.

There was no need to snap one up as they're still on sale in Sainsbury's.

Not so.  We discovered an easter egg: askew (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=askew&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=5HL9VPHwCcXm7gaV3oHYAw)

Dog managed to jam his head into the bag of tortilla chips mom was eating. She yelled at him. Ten minutes later, he did it again. And this time he won! Mouth full of chips, with his whopping six teeth will take him hours to eat.

I salute you, Stout little hunter!

Another one, but this was a few weeks back, he realized he was in a collar, and decided to jam up against a footrest to yank it off. He got it around his face, and walked around proudly, thinking he'd defeated his nemesis.

I have pictures, but I'm not sure how to host them anymore. Damn photobucket was a crutch.

Oh no, it was better. It lined his face, like a halo. up over his little bumpy forehead, and under his short muzzle. Like he was wearing an invisible hoodie.

He also hates hugs. You just sit next to him, nothing else. I accuse him of being a cat regularly.

Dog again.

I have a low bed, so he can jump up onto it to visit, and usually when he's done, he'll jump back down. This time he rolled sideways off the bed like a potato. At first I thought he fell, but when I looked, he MEANT to do that.

It was like in action movies when the stuntman jumps out of a car and rolls to bleed momentum, but a fat little spud!

Roll on you crazy little fluff!

Maybe it was to save wear and tear on his joints.  In my experience, dogs are pretty smart about maintaining their own level of comfort.  This extends to lying in doorways during hot weather or finding the very best spot to hang out on the floor beneath the ceiling fan.

Still, it sounds like a pretty funny thing to watch.

So, as we're locked down indefinitely, I decided to treat myself and I bought myself this:

I had to wait a few days as it came from the Czech Replublic but it was well worth to see the smile on the young delivery man's face - and he was wearing a surgical mask. He was just stood at my door in a standing legs-crossed stance, resting a hand on the box which was on-end with the picture of what was inside emblazened on the packaging. He was grinning so hard under the mask the his eyes were just slits.

Priceless.

From a SAHO post on facebook.

A cousin asked "What are your snack, now that the snacks are gone"

And my response was:

Shredded Cheese, we meet again. Here we are, at 3 AM.

And then I just broke down giggling.

I remember when times were rough, and money was short, I'd take a cheese single, a slice of sandwich meat, and roll it around a pickle spear. That's actually not a half bad snack either.

I like string cheese.  You must eat it by pulling strings off of it.  Mozzarella, preferably whole milk.  The pickles I consume separately, although I realize plenty of people eat them as a side with meat/cheese sandwiches.  I do love a good dill pickle, I was so happy to find an unopened jar in the back of my fridge.  I swear that refrigerator hides food from me.

I have one bag of string cheese left and opened it this afternoon.  I dread going back to the supermarket.  But that's not funny, so I'm at a loss.

I'm greedy with string cheese, those individual wrapped ones seem so very small I'd want them to at least be the size of a butter knife. The little chalk stick ones do nothing for me. But yes, I remember skinning them bit by bit as a kid.

I want to say what that person should inject himself with, but I don't want a visit from the secret service.

Fun fact: A site I was a member on during Bush II, second term, Threatened Bush II. Not only did the secret service try to track the user down, they had an interview with the site owner as well.

That user was named "shitfuck." That's right, a website operator had to deal with the secret service over a user named "shitfuck"

So I'll try to avoid directly threatening the person who suggested INJECTING DISINFECTANTS today. Also, the sun magically kills illness now, despite the fact that standing and REAL medical advice on this is that the virus doesn't give a flying golly what climate you're in.

You are underestimating the gullibility of my compatriots.  We have a president who suggests that injecting bleach might help.  And plenty of boneheads who are happy to take his word for it.  Plus, it is my firm belief that the President could murder someone on video and his followers, after viewing the evidence, would make up some reason not to believe it.  So much for the nation that was founded on such Enlightenment principles as reason and science.

In the interests of finding something funny, I typed that into youtube.  The best I could come up with was Cats vs Balloons.  So here:

I had a roommate once who could sleep through an ear shattering alarm clock.  She was in the next room.  The alarm woke me up and as it went on for a really long time, I went in to see what was up.  I was asking her, "how do you turn this thing off?" loud enough to wake anyone. I began to fear that she'd died during the night.  After I poked her and determined she was still breathing, I unplugged the clock and went back to bed.  She kept sleeping.

I was amazed as I'm an extremely light sleeper.  I suspect the house could burn down and she'd sleep through it.

I think it's the kind of error where they've heard the word before, but never wrote it.

You see a similar effect when people speak words they've only read. Pronunciation can be a pain.

I left freschetta a message that I asked Grocery Outlet to pull their product for Wild Mikes and their ads vanished from my page.

Clickbait on facebook made me recognize where a longstanding nightmare came from.

...Willy Wonka.

Specifically, in the nightmare, I can't get through any door, it is suddenly too small to fit through.

It's the shrinking hallway from the film.

I presume it's cousin, the one where I get in a car, and the door crushes my head, is caused by being able to "feel" my head on the pillow.

... Still love the movie. Quaker oats took a bath though. (Every variation of a wonka bar they attempted turned out poo.)

Also if every copy of the Johnny Depp Remake would stop existing, that would be great.

Give it up for Tico, the singing parrot.  He has a compelling take on an old favorite.

Tico definitely made me smile, glad I just so happened to dig up its position.  8ully, good insight into his bio too, thanks for that.

Birds are funny when they react to music.  We used to watch our neighbor's English budgie and he had what my husband used to call "the personality of an accountant."  But put on jazz, and he suddenly got animated and sang his little heart out.  It was so funny.  My own budgies seemed to like, among other things, football games.  I suspect that the roar of the crowd sounded a bit like rain.  They would get really excited and sing.  The last one was partial to the Rolling Stones.

A guy in Florida attempts to rob a Wendy's drive through restaurant with an alligator.  Nothing out of the ordinary for the area.  With Meatball Ron as a governor, who knows what ends anyone might be driven to?

Sometimes craigslist's free section is a real hoot.
This guy is trying to give away a Pumpkin pie, except he thinks it sucks.  Surely he'll be overwhelmed with takers with such salesmanship skills.

For some reason I always write "becomming" and then have to correct the spelling. Not sure why I make that mistake as it makes no sense - or does it? I'm confusing myself again ...

Anywho, I found this (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Becomming-Successful-Knowing-achieving-success/dp/B0B39TSLHZ) which seems to be unsuccessful from the first word. Literally!

"Independently published" explains a good deal about the lack of spell checking of the title.

I also don't think it's much of a success to only be able to muster 28 pages. Maybe he ran out of ink with all the typo correcting.
