Title: Make some noise!!!
Post by: smokester on July 15, 2010, 09:52:29 AM
It is so quiet lately that the silence is deafening.  Not just here on the boards but, for me, in real life too.  75% of my kids' school have already broken up and there is now tumbleweed blowing around the playground.  A lot of my neighbours have set off on their summer hols so even the noise from traffic is reduced.

Because of this I have started this thread so I can post, double post, treble post, sing, strum the keyboard with my fingers like this:

sdfsdfklsdlfkj;asoijopiuertiertkelrktnoerihjpweoipwdfj'

... in fact, I can make some noise whenever I choose without having to make any sense - and what pray tell is new about that then?

I'm forever blowing bubbles, pretty bubbles in the air....

Yay! I can hear tapping.

Probably the mice though as they get frisky around this time.

It's winter holidays here so kids are playing indoors all day OR you get them to the mall where are hundreds of kids. I could enjoy some of your silence, believe me.  ;D

The missus is off work today, so there is a big change in the 'silence' department..

My kids don't break up until next Thursday and I can't wait.  Mind you, don't quote me on that in 2 weeks.

It's thundering where I am. Nature is being loud 8)

The only thing I can hear is the hum of my computers and the missus snoring.  That and some keyboard strumming:

Told you.

Do the words "bask in the glory" go where the dots are?

Something like that.

Funny how some ditties stay with you throughout your life.

There was an old woman of 92, parlez vous ...

I've heard some good songs on the terraces.
This one is a classic.

We're not English we are Scouse,
We're not English we are Scouse,
We're not English,
We're not English,
We're not English we are Scouse,

You can stick the royal family up your arse,
You can stick the royal family up your arse,
You can stick the royal family,
Stick the royal family,
You can stick the royal family up your arse...

And this has been going for a few decades now.

It was back in nineteen-sixty-five
On the very first day of May.
Me Dad sang and danced for the lads in Red
as he walked down Wembley Way.
Ian St. John scored the goal that won
The Cup we'd never won before.
And as his son I love to wear
The scarf my father wore.

It is old but it is beautiful
And its colours they are fine
It was worn in Paris, Wem-ber-ly
In Rome and on the Rhine
My father wore it as a youth
In the bygone days of yore
And as his son I love to wear
The scarf my father wore.

And a few modern classics.

She loves a scouse cockerel,
She loves a scouse cockerel,
John Terry's ma,
She loves a scouse cockerel

You'll never shag a sexy bird, Rooney, Rooney,
You'll never shag a sexy bird, Rooney, Rooney,
He used to play for EFC and now hes shagging OAPs
Fat rotter Rooney,
Wants to shag your gran...

Chelsea, Chelsea, wherever you may be,
Don't leave your wife with John Terry.
His dad deals coke,
His mum steals tea
He cried when he missed a penalty...

As I recall, most football chants for all the clubs were compiled by someone scouse.  I believe they were paid good money to do so.

Talented bunch in that department - pity about the Beatles tho'.

I love football chants. At least here they're inventive, foulmouthed, funny and filled with energy.

The West Ham ICF were such a well organised group of fans they actually had designated members who wrote football chants, members that were more than likely Scousers.

The rain is doing a tap dance on the roof.

The kids are arguing loudly.

The TV is blaring.

Mom's chattering with her girl friends.

It's deathly quiet where I am again (who said London was busy?) so I am going to play my piano, badly.

It's quiet now because I think everyone's fainted from the heat.

The noise level jumps up quite perceptibly once the kids get home.

I've heard that wimmin's headaches are far worse than men's. And have a greater tendency to happen at night..

And have a greater tendency to happen at night..

 ;)

See, mine happen in the morning and they're due to 2 things:

1) Lack of sleep.

2) Lack of control in my drinking the night before.

2) Lack of control in my drinking the night before.

I've been ill the last couple of days with a flu type thing, and even beer aggravates my sore throat.  Hopefully nearer Xmas I'll be back on form, just in time for the abundance of alcohol I've already bought!!

I just saw some tumbleweed believe it or not. It blew straight past Chaos and landed in one of the members gardens..

Best place for it I say.
