Title: Black Mesa is free to download and play
Post by: brickbatz on September 14, 2012, 09:56:48 PM
Black Mesa download... http://release.blackmesasource.com/

Black Mesa (formerly Black Mesa: Source) is a Half-Life 2 total conversion remaking of Valve Software's award-winning PC game, Half-Life.

Utilizing the Source engine, Black Mesa will reintroduce the player as Doctor Gordon Freeman, along with the original cast of memorable characters and environments seen in Half-Life. Black Mesa was built and founded on the basis that Half-Life: Source didn't fully live up to the potential of a Source engine port of Half-Life. As such, Black Mesa was founded to fully reconstruct the Half-Life universe utilizing Source to its fullest potential in terms of art detail, level sizes and code features. It should be noted that the project is being built from the ground up and is not a simple port of Half Life maps and models into the Source Engine. The idea is to remake the storyline used in Half Life into a new polished Source Engine version with new models, maps, soundtrack, voice acting and textures.

Using the torrent download, I had over 30,000 seeders and downloaded it at nearly 2MB/s.

Yeah, it's a plus.

Interestingly enough, d*monoid is in the list of trackers, apparently no one told the guy compiling it that the site is down.

Not censored for me (if you mean the swear filter replaces it with another word).  BTW, the swear filter is a individual setting you apply in your profile.

Looking at it now, the first instance is, but the second post is not.

what a whicket I've found.

Oh, and I beat black mesa. Lot of fun, shame we have to wait for xen.

The only complaints I have come from the source material, the jumping puzzles in the lambda core.

All good boss man. Still, I mentioned it in passing, regarding a wholly legal torrent.

Seeing as those are unicorns and linux distributions, one would think diasfora would fully embrace a legal torrent of popular nature.

A D' here and a D' there is fine, but if there are too many instances of the word we may get picked up in searches. Even that may not pose any real threat to the site so to speak, but considering nearly all of us are of the same ilk it's prudent to keep our business as our business.

Therefore, I tend to break the posted word on occasion.

I wish it were up, for ratio building purposes this torrent is a goldmine.
