Our television wouldn't turn on and I thought for sure Sears put a hex on our tv because we refused to purchase a warranty plan.
The cable box worked fine. I even switched tv plug to a different socket. Nothing. We got the tv in 2010, so it should be fine. I switched out the my ps3 plug with the tv plug and now it works again. Not sure why the plug stopped working. Good thing that plug is easily replaceable.

The cord died. Happens, but it's only like $10 to fix it new. If you want to be specific you can google it and put in an order at radio shack.
We had a 2010 TV poo itself in the middle of summer, heat killed the poor thing. $300 to fix, beat buying a new one though.
