Title: Apps
Post by: Beatrix on April 16, 2016, 12:15:48 PM
What apps do you use, new ones, crappy ones?
Share your stories and advice too please.

Got this from: Historical Calendar.  (It has a good widget too)

16 April 0073 (1943 years ago): Masada, a Jewish fortress, falls to the Romans after several months of siege, ending the Great Jewish Revolt. (Historical Calendar https://goo.gl/TDME3p )

Every time I get a new phone I forget all the apps I previously used.  The only ones I seem not to be able to live without are Kiss Kube and Giant Clock. I also use the AtTheRaces app but that's just for pleasure.

Comic Zeal, File Browser, 2 Factor apps (Google Authenticator, Steam auth, etc), Google Maps (eff a bunch of Apple Maps), Cloud tools (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive)...That's about it for my must haves.  I also like to have some other apps but use them less frequently (Sudoku, guitar-based apps (tuners, chord charts, etc), Game strat apps, Cyanide & Happiness, Dark Sky, etc.

My htc phone didn't have a notepad app so I used ak notepad, which has since been discontinued. I've got a samsung now, and the memo app is ok.

Other than that I just use chrome.

Sky Go is a great app.  Every lunchtime I can watch anything I like on my phone.

My banking apps are also a godsend.

I seldom browse or watch videos on my phone. I'll tell you what's on my home screen which is pretty much what I use:
WhatsApp, Gmail, Google maps, Spotify, AccuWeather, Chrome, Mundo Descuento (discount searching app), ¿Cuándo llega? (local transportation app) and Keep. This last one I don't like. I should look for something better.

I found a website and the app works decent when I downloaded it,
Itcher.
Rate movies to get personalized movie recommendations... Like Pandora for films.
I haven't used the music part or other options yet, just movies.
