Not sure, to be honest. I'll let you know once sobriety returns.

That comment is wasted on me. Especially the last part.

Yes.  It's nice how my final exams finish 2 days before Xmas this year.  I'm exhausted.  One tomorrow and another one on the 23rd.  I'll be stupid just in time for the holidays.  At least I can kick back and not think for a few days.

I hope the rest of you are planning a nice dinner with family.  At least I got my presents sent out well before the holiday this year.  That's a plus.

I'm off from the 21st to the 7th, multiple family get togethers and maybe get some more work done on the house.

Hope everyone has a nice relaxing holiday.  :)

I've been off since the 14th (with some server patching on the 15th and "firefighting" on the 17th, both remotely) and don't return until 1/7. Spending some time with family in N.C. and FL.

Oh yeah, I can reach Dias from the Starbucks wifi in NC but back in VA, only reach it via my work wifi.

Merry ChristmaHannaKwanzaFestivus to all!!!

You would have thought that someone who spends his life fixing IT for other folk could sort out his own connectivity issues!

I hear that cobblers wear the worst shoes.

For me it's the end of twelfth night so that's it for another year. It's been fun.

Go on then, just one more mince before I bail.

And a brandy perhaps..

Had a stargate related Christmas thought.

Since NORAD tracks Santa on Christmas, couldn't the Goauld use that gap to launch a stealth invasion of earth?

I feel like that would result in our world being governed by the newest system lord, Santa Claus.

Post by: 6pairsofshoes on December 24, 2019, 10:57:38 PM
Ha!  Santa would be preferable to the Gou'ald, but I wonder if we'd get sick of all the presents and feasting.

At any rate, Merry Christmas to everyone here!

I've eaten and drunk too much as usual. Somehow, overindulging doesn't feel as good as it once did.

Roll on Twelfth Night and the start of my diet!

I hear ya. It's come to the point where I question whether or not it's worth it but I seem to find myself regularly in the same state.

Hell no to the "re-run". I've learned that "re-do"'s often end worse then the first run. I'll cut my losses and move to the next game level.

I'm torn between taking the decorations down before epiphany and getting the whole thing over with, and keeping them up to spite all the adversity.

They're still up for now.

wife decided to take ours down Saturday, she is now working non stop due to that which cannot be named variant and she doesn't trust me with wrapping the baubles. I am happy with that, all i do is put in the loft.

We're off out for a Thai dinner shortly and then tomorrow I have many hours of driving and cooking (not at the same time) to do. With this in mind, I'll wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I hope we all manage to enjoy it as much as humanly possible.

Happy Chrimbo All !!

Merry Christmas.  And enjoy that Thai food.  I love it and haven't had any for many months.  Maybe I'll order some carry out next week.  We are going to stay home and cook a duck breast -- same thing as Thanksgiving, but it's quick and delicious.

I hope you all have a happy day and a better, healthier new year!

I'm sorry your wife is having to work today, goldie.  It's so frustrating that, despite the booster and full vaccines, wearing masks and staying as far away from other people as possible, several people I know have contracted Covid.  Thankfully, everyone has had a mild case, but I suspect your wife is dealing with unvaccinated or vulnerable people who are very sick.  I hope you and yours continue to stay safe and have the best holiday you can under the circumstances.

We are waiting for a break in the rain to go for a walk.  Time to go pump out the basement again.  Merry Christmas.

Wow.  I forgot to look at the date of the post, I guess.  It's been very quiet here lately, so I thought I'd missed out on the conversation.  I wonder what the last human alive would feel like, missing conversation and going back to online fora to respond to old posts out of sheer frustration, knowing they weren't going to get a response.

I hope goldie's alright as we haven't seen him in 2 weeks - which is odd for him. Perhaps I'll drop him a line.

I'd rather have craziness and family the peace and quiet alone. But that's me, I recharge by being around others. And family can be the best (and worst) kind of craziness.
