I use them a lot, but as long as this is a "person-to-person" customization, I don't care...  :)

I like the banner but have you looked at JackFrost's banner.  It's really very nice and really set's precedent for a whole theme.

As for the buttons, as long as they are there, no matter where they are, I'm good.  I use them explicitly.

They should show at the bottom as well but I cannot be sure as the testing forum does not have the nav bar at the bottom?
