I have made an offer on one but it's nigh on impossible to get insurance for a bike that's kept on a public road in London, so I offered £400 less than the asking price to offset this.

I have clients that have spent over 10K on their pushbikes. It seems a little obscene but when you consider that they a rarely off them, it's probably good value for money.

The bike has monster power. I had to ride it back partly in Storm Ali and it's pure acceleration made it cut through winds that were forcing me to change lane without and desire to change lane.

Further south I got the warmer, dryer and calmer things became and that's when the real fun began...

Oddly, when I was getting quotes for the insurance, one of the questions was that did I own over 6 bikes? It was asked like it was a common occurrence.

They were considering making cyclists subject to dangerous driving laws. I'm not sure whether they shelved that or not or even abandoned it altogether.

They should definitely find in favour of it:

I waver both sides, cyclists get a lot of hassle, cyclists give a lot of hassle.
Workmate I sometimes cycle with is so aggressive towards drivers, followed him to work and a taxi stopped on the cyclist lane - he hit the taxi and verbally abused the driver, i felt so ashamed.
One of the safe designated cycling routes to my work (bikes painted on road ?) also is on the driving test route you can imagine the trouble cyclists have on that route 
Better thought out road systems are the way to go.

Cyclists and drivers would get along fine if cyclists obeyed the highway code - but they don't, not a one of them.

There are of course and many idiots on 4 wheels that don't give a crap about motoring courtesy, but hopefully when ANPR is rolled out on mass (for ULEZ) a lot of people will have to clean up their act.
