There are many who are criminals, you know. ;)

They would have had to have been convicted to qualify, so that does narrow it down by about 5%.  The court system along with the reason for hanging are just meant to help it along a bit as the types of celebrities is too broad, and giving a direct clue would probably be too much.  We originally had a dead or alive status given away after 5 incorrect guesses but it just bulked the game up and we wanted it to be as slick as possible.

Clue 2 is reserved for the revealing of the sleb's gender after 3 incorrect guesses. No matter though as long as you reveal it at that point.
