That car just won't cut it Jack, it looks like a bog standard 1600 possibly a GT (the Brits in the house will know what I mean).  Frank wouldn't drive anything less that the 3.1 V6 and I see one went a few years ago for $64,000. Although it was special, it's looks are very deceiving.

Just goes to show cultural differences.
A capri/pinto is a nice car in GB.
Here in the US, acapri/pinto is a flaming death trap of a joke lol
I think it had to do with the explosions they had when hit from the reear here.
Knowing the auto makers,we were theones that got the factory rejects.

Yeah, Iaccoca was in charge of Ford at the time and they knew about the defect and the fix was about a $1.00 piece of metal to shield the gas tank.  Iaccoca didn't want to do it because at the time, he was trying to get the price of a card down really low (at least that's how my history teacher in high school told it).

Looks like the Capri came first.

Although the Mk1 Capri (which is the style in my photo) was actually only introduced a year earlier than the Pinto

I dont know whether American car manufacturers cant make a decent car,,or if they cant make them for us.
To me,,the last good car was made back in 1981,,anything after was too disposable and looked too much like an electric shaver.
Cars havent had style in decades here in America.
People will argue about the new mustangs,,,but the truth is that the real mustangs havent been made since the early 70s.
 Heck,,give me a 1957 Chevy Bel Air,,,with tail fins.
Now THAT was a car with style.
