I don't know how long the server was down for but my mail has been out for at least 3 hours.

Our host, JaguarPC, apparently like to sleep on the job.

Lucky there's people like me who know how to send support tickets, otherwise they may be down indefinitely.

Yo, the site comes up 403 on my computer, so it's not just my phone.

I am able to access the forum by doing a google search for "diasfora index" but diasfora.co.uk comes up as 403.

Are you still seeing it? I'm hoping a load spike knocked out some of the services and the problem was temporary.

I'll run the maintenance routines anyhow.

I checked it earlier when 8ullfrog mentioned it and was getting the 403 as well.  I meant to post but then got distracted.  I always go directly to the "new posts" link so never noticed it before 8ully said something.

It's working fine for me now though.

I complained to the hosting comp' a while back saying that the server spikes far too often indicating it might be oversold. They apologised and said they'd look into it.

It could be someone hogging the server unintentionally.

Major MySQL issue at the host's end, and is why we've had the error all day. Looks OKish now but if anyone gets any problems please report them here as I'm not completely convinced.

I think they might have had to restore from backup.  I'm positive I posted a reply to Bea's "I'm back" post in the "Last Person to Speak Wins" thread but it's not there now, nor in the Recycle Bin.  It's possible I typed it out and just forgot to post it, but I don't believe so.

Yes I believe I read that.

I haven't had a reply from them confirming what they did to correct things, they just initially advised me that MySQL was at fault. I suspect you're right and at least this conversation will explain any missing posts.
