Think it's ok now and sorry 6 for losing your last post.

Hopefully goldie will confirm soon.

Looks good to me with a quick login from a Private Browsing Chrome browser.

It was actually a combination of a few things but, in truth, when the boy read your post about file permissions (which, in part, it certainly was) it all fell into place for him.

The DB was also in quite bad shape and couldn't be downloaded/archived. It has now been rebuilt and the boy set a script up to archive it daily - eventually to his drives to save on space.

I just posted, Thanks.

So no problem.

I'm happy to see that the logged out page is back to normal.  Thanks for putting in the time to fix it and happy Father's day.  I hope you had some fun.

Thanks, six, today was almost work free (just called out for half an hour).

Had fun too as I was bought a magnificent Thai dinner and a bottle of Pouilly Fumé. That is about all I can ask for in these mad times.

Site is breathing well by the looks of it.

About time too. I was wondering what we paid you for.

(Well done, and thanks!)

On the first part: any chance of a pay rise. I was thinking double the current rate?

On the second part: my 17 year old with multiple terminal windows and lots of tippy tappying really should take the credit. I'm more the "ideas" man nowadays.

Yipee all ok now  :) :)

Phew! I thought we'd lost you.

Had to bypass a browser block to get through.

I get the same message when I log into my router.

No longer getting the message.

Could not connect when I was out on my phone, and 6 emailed me saying her browser won't let her in.

I'm using edge 92.0.902.67 (Official build) (64-bit), and apparently there is an update available.

Chrome
Version 92.0.4515.131 (Official Build) (64-bit) got in smoothly

Browsers have been doing a lot lately to tighten up on SSL/HTTPS certificates. It might have been something like that and the update resolved it. Secured communications are very sensitive and any number of things can cause issues (system time being off a little, not being able to check the cert revocation list to validate a good cert, etc).

Glad it resolved for you. It is odd that both you and 6 were experiencing issues at around the same time though. Maybe smokester or TNG were doing some system maintenance at the time (though smokester would normally give a heads up).

"Let's Encrypt" SSL expired and for some reason newly generated ones wouldn't stick. TNG did this one manually but after the VPS reboot the issue seems to be resolved.

TNG can be quite useful sometimes.

Thanks for the quick fix.  I tried several times and google said something like the characters that the site sent back were indecipherable.  So something was going on related to the security certificate expiring.

Running Chrome:
Version 92.0.4515.131 (Official Build) (x86_64)

I'm about to upgrade our VPS so there might be a glitch in the service.
