Comic book "gaffs"
« on: October 22, 2009, 11:25:16 AM »
I don't know why a thread like this hasn't already been started but here goes.

Ok, so we've all seen the Batman comics where they keep talking about the Joker's "boner".  Then there are all the "shopped" images and such like my "Battsecks" pic.  Well, now here is the place to put them.

I'll start off with all the ones I've already got in my PhotoBucket account and end it with a new one I recently found that isn't really funny accept for the fact that it slipped by editing.

Here's some old ones that I've had for ages. I'll post others as and when I come across them.

Here are a couple from Marvel's promo department.

Earlier this year, Marvel put out the 2009 Reading Chronology, which was a freebie that had lists of important stories to read to get the full back story on a particular character or team.

For what he's reading, Wolverine has a very appropriate face. I've not read it myself, but from some of the stuff I've heard about it (Bone claws? Really?) I can see why Logan would be a little puzzled and disgusted at the same time... :D:

One recent giveaway was an Astonishing X-Men Sketchbook to promote the *ahem* new direction the book would be taking. On one page of the sketchbook, they decided to highlight the first page of the script by writer Warren Ellis. Keep in mind that Marvel has to expect that these freebies will fall into the hands of children:

For anyone familiar with Warren Ellis' work lately, here's an extra added bonus gag: I'll bet that sentence starts a lot of his scripts. Rimshot! I'll be here off-and-on over the week!

I knew I should have read the Bible more closely.

Holy carp! What is that from?!

I have like 5 or 6 different versions of the bible in comic form, but I've never seen one that has Spider-Man and The Hulk in it!

I must have it!  :D

Thats a Lie!! Ill tell you how I know.
No self respecting Texan can abide someone from the state of Arkansas.
Well, ok,,maybe if they moved to North Texas,, but thats just Southern Oklahoma  when your north of Dallas.
I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.

Actualy after consulting the Holy Book of the Church Of AJ, It was revealed that a guy named Burt, who was a reptile wrangler from Sumatra came and taught him to ride dinosaures.

I think thats the translation,,or it could have said " And lo,,I see her undies  when she bends over"

But with religious texts,,its hard to be sure.
I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.

I KNEW I translated it right!
Its hard to tanslate something that was written by 50 drunks in a shriners convention, then re written by AJ while in a mild state of inebriation.
I keep my standards low.
That way im never disapointed.
